It was an act of desperation to try and breathe life back into his campaign. Unfortunately for Ted, the Trump circus travelling the country had gained too much momentum and popularity for him to overcome, and naming any woman as his VP candidate wasn't going to matter.
Ted Cruz's biggest issue that I could tell, was his refusal to say he'd deport those in the county illegally, until it was way too late, and then he only said he'd be open to the discussion.
Because Fiorina is probably the only person on Earth who can tolerate being around Ted Cruz for longer than a minute.
When Ted Cruz was born, his mom snatched him from the doctor before he could smack Ted’s bottom and she slapped him across the face. Then she tried to smother him.
The guy is totally despicable as a human being.
There is video of Cruz trying to kiss one of his kids and the kid makes a disgusted face and pushes him away. I totally emphasized with the kid in that moment.

Around 2016 that was true, because members of Congress are scared of new members that refuse to go along with the corrupt system that's in place. They saw him as a threat. Now that they've actually gotten to know him he isn't despised as much as he was.
During the 2016 campaign I wasn't too sure about him at first, until I started watching his campaign speeches that were available on C-span's site. While I didn't agree with all of his stances on issues, I did notice how much honor & integrity he had. I also noticed how much stamina and energy he had; not only by clearing out halls after his speeches by taking the time to listen to every single person that wanted to talk to him, but also when I watched his filibuster on the Senate floor. The man got stronger as the night went on as he spoke. It was amazing to watch. He's someone to keep an eye on in 2024, unless he ends up on the Supreme Court, which he reportedly turned down once already.
