Common Dem's, really?
I feel like this bill has everything we need in the short term to get some cash to the people and assure we still have airlines and other small businesses around after this is over.
Does is just not have enough kickbacks or "pork" in it for Nancy?

I agree, small business isn't capable of carrying employee's very long when no money is coming in. It's assumed that larger businesses can, and would benefit through the bills corporate tax deferral for them. Of course, like in the great recession of 2008, unemployment benefits can always be expanded and extended. Seems to me the Dems are posturing just to satisfy their base while many people and businesses that are paycheck-to-paycheck could really use some help.
Not opening the article again I don't want to look at Nancy's nasty duck face anymore.

/Shrug. I'm against it. I was against it when they bailed out GM. Weird times when the RINOs are running the Republican party throwing around welfare like it's crack in the 1980s and becoming champions of outright socialism ala Bush's buying GM. Hell, if you're going to do socialism at least do it right and don't sell it back for pennies on the dollars and hold onto the assets you wasted taxpayer money on to actually benefit them. I'd be absolutely against the government buying up ownership of airlines but I'd be ten thousand times more in favor of socialism done right than socialization of risk alone.

First bill made sense. This one... feels a bit dubious. I think it should be better thought out.

The GOP bill puts corporations ahead of the people. What else is new?

At least it looks like the Republicans aren't trying to attache the Hyde Amendment to the stimulus bill any more. I guess that's progress.

I had a very sour opinion of the 2008 bailouts my self, so I understand. GM and Chrysler sat there and dealt $60K 12 mpg SUV's amidst $5/gallon gas and then came crying for bailout money.
I feel that with the cause of this current economy being a pandemic outbreak, puts it into a different category. This is more along the lines of having a big tornado or hurricane come along and wipe out thousands of homes and businesses.
Imagine your home and workplace gets leveled by a Tornado, you are suddenly homeless and jobless and just lost everything all at once to no doing of your own. Furthermore, you wanted to be "safe" and built your home in an area that hadn't had a tornado in 100 years. You wouldn't want the Fed to simply "shrug" and tell you "you're on your own" would you?

The Democrats are trying to include everything they've been trying to get through for the last thirty years in these bills. NONE of it related to the Virus response!!! This includes more abortion funding.

This crisis will probably be going on for 12 months or so. There simply isn't going to be any non-essential "small business" activity in a few months to care about. Congress could end up chasing bad money with good money, and that's stupid.
