I’m very American. I don’t vote for Democrats.

The backlash was immediate and very forceful from just about everyone.....and the DNC bots who tried to spin her obstruction and 1400 page 2.5 trillion dollars worth of pork she was pushing didn't convince anyone.

They'll still spin this as a victory, and I don't care so long as most of if not all of the nonsense pork she tried to add is dropped and aid gets to those who need it.

The Democrats really blew it on this and will probably lose their House majority because of it. I can see the ads now.

Other than that, I'm sure the layoffs will start on the earliest date allowed by the bailout terms.

P.S. The money was used for buybacks so spare me "paying workers less".
It would require mountains of cash to survive weeks or months of being shut down by the government. Perhaps you are merely ignorant as to what it costs for businesses to even exist, but even a short term shutdown costs businesses hundreds of billions in revenue. If we're looking at a month we're talking more than a trillion.

The purpose of what you are spinning as a "slush fund" would be additional aid that could go to those industries in need without red tape delaying things. The first priority of an industry is to ensure they stay in business, that's what the vast majority of aid would be used for.

Even with the aid, layoffs will still happen because the government isn't completely reimbursing businesses for the damage they caused them.....but the goal is to prevent half the businesses across the country from shutting down.....which is a real possibility if they do nothing.

It looks like they are going to vote with the Senate bill with just one change, oversight off the bail out money. But I’m surprised that play this game, cash needs to be sent out, this has been delayed unnecessary.

Yeah, things were already pretty bad for them, this just ensures they lose every district that isn't dark blue. There's just no way to effectively defend their actions on this.

The Des Moines Register just published a poll yesterday that showed Republicans ahead in all 4 Iowa House districts. The Democrats flipped 2 in 2018. They’re going to lose most of the swing districts they flipped in 2018, especially if it’s a turnout election. Which it will be with Trump on the ballot.

Default Nancy Pelosi = Fraud, failure in American values and leadership

No one embodies divisiveness and fraudulence quite like Baltimore native Nancy Pelosi. As her adopted home state of California continues to fall apart, Nancy Pelosi persists in remaining the most toxic and divisive politician in DC.

Pelosi and anyone who supports her ought to be ashamed.

The leadership failures of the Democrat Party are truly astounding.

It's equally astounding that the republicans are insisting on a $500B slush fund to be dolled out by trump with no restrictions on how he uses it. That's just a giveaway to the ultra-wealthy and THANK GOD the democrats are standing their ground in opposing it.
