1. How did you come up with this nonsensical idea of linking death rate with travel restriction?? Death rate is just that - rate of death - every disease has a death rate, it doesn't change with travel restriction.
2. Absolutely NO expert would ever say something as stupid as travel restriction lowers death rate!!? They may say it lowers the number of infections, but that's not death rate. You are just making it up.
3. Our rate of infections is now on pace to explode. The Surgeon General just send out a warning yesterday.
4. The death rate has NEVER been the problem - it's the insane hospitalization rate of 20%!! We. Will. Run. Out. Of. Healthcare. That's the problem.

There is a time to act like a authoritarian, and times of crisis are it. Trump has been acting that way since day 1, but now when thats actually needed, when we need someone willing to make hard choices he is failing at it.
If you want to see authoritarian, go look at what they did to the doctor in China who tried to warn the world about this virus. Then we can have a discussion on authoritarianism and tyranny.
And WW2 was a time to exercise authoritarianism. This is not that. Nor is it in any way worse than what we've dealt with, in terms of outbreaks, in the past.

Everything is related !!! The seriousness is related to the death rate but the death rate is the end game that measures the ultimate effect of the virus !!! Its not the only measurement but when we look at past pandemics they all list the estimate of deaths !!!

A pandemic is directly related to travel !!! Its in the definition !!! Travel of the virus !!! A virus that doesn't travel can't be a pandemic !!! This simple fact you overlook or ignore !!! It doesn't suite your political intent that's for sure !!!

Hospitalization rate is directly related to the travel of the virus and the death rate !!! People who have the virus don't want to die !!! Their best chance to prevent their own death is seek help and end up in the hospital where they hope to get it !!!
The number of deaths is like a score card for the virus !!! Preventing the virus from scoring is the goal of the healthcare system/professionals !!! Its an end game measurement of the virus's victory and it gives a clue of who is winning until the virus runs it course too !!! Its all related !!! Facilitate its travel from the test tube and introduce it to one person and the potential is unleashed !!!

I'm really sick of hearing about "Trump's early action on travel restrictions." It was too little, too late.
This is still in the early stages. My county still doesn't have a case of Covid-19. Since we still haven't don that much testing, the death rate is a irrelevant statistic.
It is NY state’s job to shut down, lock down NY state. NOT the federal government.
You win the prize! The USA is a Republic with most powers going to the States. It is up to the Governors to determine Shut Downs go their own Economies. The President gave guidelines and a Timeline drawn up by the Pandemic Taskforce ... he asked for cooperation and his Taskforce gives long Press Conferences daily.
Interesting that the Leftists are demanding the President go outside of his Constitutional Authorization and Shut Down this entire Nation. I suspect that would help them a lot in November, and the screams on the TeeVee would be almost instantaneous of “DICTATOR/HITLER !!!
We will find out what the President and Taskforce propose next on about April 1.
