For the Leftists who never got over Hillary losing, there was never a date too early for Trump to do this

While GM is trying to figure out what a ventilator even is, Mr. Dyson, who knows something about sucking, turns one around in 10 days.

I know it's a different time, but we beat down the Germans (twice), stumped Japan into submission, stared down the Sovets, sent men to the moon and built the greatest nation on this planet... There is NOTHING... NOTHING the American people can't do if WE spoke in ONE voice and fought as ONE people.

I support Trump authorizing the Nation Defense Act in this crisis... Since we are at War with this virus. It will prevent corporations, like GM, from charging an unfair amount for each unit of whatever we need to fight this virus with. I'm glad that Trump whizzed all over GM's legs when they stated the unit cost for each of these ventilators.

I know that we are a divided country and this is why more people will die since we, the American people, can't unite for this one crisis.

We will get through this and with the grace of God, we will not loose too many of our people.

If this can't unite the country, to act as one people, we're phoocked.

You left out all the losses.

"we will not loose too many of our people"

And here is the key too this entire issue. Trump will be responsible If people die because we have to ration out ventilators. If we have ventilators to cover everyone the president will have every right in the world to say I told you so. What I do know is you don't start hooking up the hose only when the fire reaches the house. We will know who was right and who was wrong in the next 10 days or so. If the president is wrong we will have payed a very heavy price. I hope he is right but only time will tell.

I bet the language in that act is so outdated now to the point of being useless. Government demanding Google to make ventilators? What if they can't? And with the prices they are commanding, why wouldn't it happen already? By the time GM figures out where it blows or sucks, the market is flooded.

Please, if I end up in the hospital, don't let them put me on a ventilator made by GM.
I want to live.

The Daily Beast reports, however, that Trump’s tweets caused “mass confusion” within his own administration, as officials scrambled to determine whether he was actually invoking the Defense Production Act to ramp up supplies of desperately needed medical equipment, or if he was just spouting off.

It seems, however, that nothing concrete has changed and the president is still relying on voluntary contributions from manufacturers to produce ventilators, hand sanitizer, N95 masks, and other essentials that hospitals say they need to combat the disease.

Trump’s mixed messaging raises additional questions about why the process for addressing dire hospital needs has been so disjointed more than 60 days after senior Trump administration officials were first warned that the new coronavirus would spread across the United States.
