I'm not a fan of Trump but I don't think this is a bad idea, especially given the taxpayer $ bailouts the government has given them. Most bailouts/incentives have some pretty stringent strings attached, or at least they should, so I don't think this is too much to ask given the emergency, dire need and how this company has been bailed out with taxpayer dollars in the past.

Bad idea? He was supposed to do this weeks ago. FDR put this power in place. Trump hasn't used it in order to protect his corporate cronies bottom lines.

They’re not even going to have the ability to produce them for at least a month. You can’t just switch from cars to ventilators without major engineering considerations.
