Long live Conan the Barbarian..God...this woman is such an A-hole!

Quote:

According to democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Covid-19 pandemic is proving that the United States “is a brutal, barbarian society for the vast majority of working-class Americans.” As evidence of this, she claims that “40% of us couldn’t even afford a $400 emergency” before this crisis, and Covid-19 “is more than a $400 emergency.”

If people can't afford a "$400 emergency" than whose fault is that?? Maybe they should have been working on a skill set that will bring them a better paying, ESSENTIAL job. They also need to stop throwing their money away on frivolous things, and start making better choices on the things they do spend their money on.

Well, there were more people working, and able to afford daily life and maybe saving a little. But we were only 3 years into the economic boom, and no, that was not Obama's legacy.

Just as Trumps getting the economy humming this virus hits. And no, that's not Trumps fault. As much as Dems like AOC want to pin all of our ills on Teump that dog wont hunt. And more and more people are seeing that.

Oh I can hear the leftist howling already. I'm not even a Republican and they're getting a rope and looking g for a tree. Calls of racism shrill upon their lips. And nationalism, and fascism and whatever othe isms.

AOC needs to shut up and just go away. Amid all the pet pork spending the Dems just got through with the stimulus bill and she wants to pin Americans being in need on Trump. (sigh) yeah. The Dems fingerprints aren't on a thing.

Pure as the driven snow.

I'm no longer voting republican until stock buybacks are banned. The republicans have turned into corporate socialists so I might as well vote democrat for now. At least some of them have the promise of banning stock buybacks so we can avoid getting into this over-leveraged situation again where companies go into debt to purchase their stock. We need to institute strict controls as to the amount of leverage companies are allowed to take on to prevent blowing up of massive bubbles which the politicians just decide to allow the fed to bail out with unlimited loans and potential debt monetization instead of what they should be doing, forcing these companies to file bankruptcy.

The virus was only the trigger... this was 10 years in the making with companies like GE and BBBY being the inevitable result of buying back stock when you don't have the revenue growth to support share price appreciation or simply taking on a reckless amount of debt when you don't have the cash reserves or cash flow to service the debt, not to mention enough cash to weather an event like this. A big corporation should not have 4 weeks of cash reserves or less before they have to start issuing bonds, especially when they spend a ton of cash buying stock.

It's not just companies though, everyone seems to be leveraged to the kilt, and rather than let some of us with cash buy up these assets on the cheap, they want to bail everyone out, rewarding irresponsible behavior. This rewarding of irresponsibility is going to lead to major long term repercussions. Perhaps some of us in the middle who slave away at factory jobs so that the top and bottom can have their handouts will start to quit the system. Perhaps foreigners will start dumping the dollar and bring on hyperinflation. It's not going to be pretty if they monetize debt. Bankruptcy should be the only way to absolve debt.

AOC would fit in nicely with the crew of Another Life.

Looking at this picture, I tend to agree with AOC.

If America is so barbaric my suggestion to this AOC critter is simple...move to Tehran or Beijing or Mogadishu...after a few months let us know how that works out...

So she is opposed to all these illegal/barbarian orders and property rights violations that prohibit businesses from opening, employees from earning and shoppers from moving about freely to purchase those goods and services? There is hope

AOC is consistant when it comes to stupid things coming out of her mouth but she's not alone when you read about other elected leaders.

"Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick suggested last month that American seniors should be willing to risk their lives to the virus to preserve the economy"

"Rep. Trey Hollingsworth, R-Indiana congressman says he's willing to let more Americans die to save economy"

As you can see stupid is well represented on both sides of the political spectrum.
