Ha, I don't know who you know but I don't know anyone doing that. Here, they sell some of their stock and buy bigger houses on Lake Washington or the San Juan Islands. They buy fancier cars but they still wear cargo shorts. Trump is simply not popular here. He only got something like 36% of the vote in the entire state. https://www.nytimes.com/elections/20...lts/washington The red counties hardly have any people in them.

Yes but do you really know their financial picture, have you seen the numbers or just the impression they give you? A lot of people look well off but are broke as chit. As they say, the truth does not matter, it is what is perceived to be the truth that matters.

I didn't vote for him first time around and I don't like him personally that much, though I do think he wants the best for the country, and he sometimes makes me laugh out loud with his frankness.

His opponents are showing more and more how hateful and shallow they are, and so... I am starting to like him more all the time.

Just the way I feel. People in my life tried to insult and demean me simply because I didn't hate him enough to suit them. Now, the louder and more shrill they become, the more I lean towards him. Will probably vote for him, although I didn't the first time.

It's not about who you or I know, it's about demographics, and what happens to the human psychology as people gain experience with life. I'm sure you heard the expression "if you are not a liberal at 25, you have no heart and if you're not a conservative at 35 you have no brain".

Even in Seattle, you must not know many 50 year old socialists.

Not sure why this is so hard to understand. Here is Washington in 2016 https://www.nytimes.com/elections/20...lts/washington

And Seattle is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. We don't have a lot of people moving to flyover country, in fact quite the opposite. See those numbers? Trump is very very unpopular here. By the way, Trump is very very unpopular in California too. There's hardly any Republican members left in California after the 2018 election. Telling oneself that the deplorables in flyover country are really former West Coast techies may feel soothing but it's not true. Those people buying the Trump apparel in flyover country are long timers and proud of it.

Not hard to understand at all. what make you think I don't know Seattle is a blue city? But the idealistic 20-year old Seattle residents will grow up like everyone else does. And you'll end up with a fresh new batch of deplorables.

So the theory is, everyone in Washington voting blue is 20 years old when Trump only got 36% of the vote in the entire state? Alrighty then, if that's soothing to think, please proceed. https://www.ofm.wa.gov/washington-da...age-and-gender Trump is simply unpopular here. I know that can be difficult for a Trumplican to comprehend though.

Jesus. i know that Trump is unpopular in Seattle. And I know that not "everyone in Washington voting blue is 20 years old' which is why i never said such a thing. Trump will not win Seattle in 2020, I get it. But who cares? Well, I guess you obviously care, and of course poor Hillary cares. And a lot (but not all!) 20 year olds in Seattle care. The problem is your demographic model (if one could call it that) has all of the Trump voters in the flyover states disappearing, and absolutely nothing changing with the people currently living in Seattle and San Francisco. Pure unadulterated fantasy.

I don't see them disappearing in flyover country overnight. More like a slow (already in process) decay. Saying Seattle techies will all move to flyover country when they turn 40 and fall in love with Trump is the real fantasy but never stop believing!
