Good. Gun control is basically gun discrimination where only the elites have guns to protect themselves. People like the pompous, smarmy NYC mayor Bill de Blasio (a total coward/worm).

Also an armed populace is a good thing. Makes it less likely that innocent people will be enslaved or massacred.

Also, just because it doesn't happen, doesn't mean it can't happen. Better to be safe than sorry. Why do you think the police and military have guns? Because they are a last resort for force. Take away the guns and power becomes concentrated in the hands of a few. That's how you end up with a situation like in China or North Korea.

People should have the right and freedom to defend themselves and their family. Self-defense is a fundamental human right.

Is it even legal to shoot people for looting? It is a property crime, now not even a real crime in some places if it is under a certain amount.

Business owners would be told to vacate the businesses and let the looting occur.

When protests happened over Trump's win, some leaders didn't want to interfere with the looting, vandalism or physical attacks.

What becomes apparent when visiting stores is what products that are truly important to folks. As an example, in my neck of the woods, it was the 'maple and brown sugar' oatmeal that was consistently out while other flavours remained. It was the Skippy peanut butter that was gone but Jif remained, .40S&W is gone, 9mm is spotty, but yet plenty of .45 remain, etc.

Extrapolating, at times like this, it becomes clear that firearms are a valued resource. Anecdotally from talking to folks manning the gun counters at several local stores, the majority of folks purchasing firearms now are first timers. Makes sense as existing gun owners are probably more focused on ammo vs adding to their existing gun inventory.

Now many of these 'panic buyers' will likely not convert into true 2A supporters after all the hubba balloo is over, but it is something interesting to note and likely not unreasonable to think that many will 'get' the importance of being able to 'take care of their own' when the situation arises, esp given situations where the govt is freely restricting rights by fiat under the auspices of 'being the best for all of us'.

It's all well and good to have a stockpile of food and supplies, but there is no use having all that without a means of defending it, he argues.

NICS reports 3,740,688 checks were performed in March, which is the most recorded checks since the National Instant Check System began in 1998.

People hate guns.............................................. ............. until they need them.

Just another issue in the long list of things liberals are wrong about. They just don't think things through and rely mostly on knee jerk, emotional responses.

In my state, Missouri, you can protect your family, your property, your neighbor, their property with deadly force if YOU deem it necessary. And you are immune to lawsuits from it.

To put it in perspective, enough guns were sold in March alone to arm 10% of the entire population of the US. And that's not even counting many private sales. I would venture to say that at least some of those sales were to previously anti-gun folks who suddenly felt the need to arm themselves to protect their home and family against packs of toilet paper-seeking thugs.
