The biggest concern with a mask is to prevent you from spitting on people.

Thank You. Obviously people dissenting against how she wears it don't understand the problem that is trying to be solved. Or maybe they do.....but just can't pass on the opportunity to call a liberal and or a black person idiots and morons. Lets be honest. They probably considered her an idiot and moron regardless of how she wears the mask. That is just how some people see liberals and blacks.
Her nostrils are not tightly covered. She was always such an idiot. All she has to do is sneeze or cough, and viral-laden particles (if she's infected) will release from her nostrils. The sad thing is this woman is on the Congressional coronavirus task force.

Aside from being gross...that is not being PROJECTED by a force from the lungs....but rather, dripping down her sinuses by the force of gravity. Based upon your image, the way the lady is wearing her mask would mean that would drip down into her mask....away from others.
I responded partly because she was black, for sure. Not going to have a black person called out as an idiot by idiots. The other reason being that the mouth is the primary exit point of coughs and sneezes and droplets that contain the virus. It's akin to asking people to use their sleeve to cover their mouths when the cough and sneeze. Cutting out on the projection of droplets on surfaces, that people then touch and potentially then touch their mouths, eyes or nose.....is believed to be the main way the virus spreads, although not elusively that way. The way she is wearing the mask, is just as effective as the way you would like her to be wearing the mask. Again, her mouth and nostrils ARE COVERED...and its fitting tightly.
Couple of issues here:
First, during a sneeze, particles are indeed ejected through the nose. If it was just as effective to wear the mask under the nose, then that's how they'd be designed. Every medical authority and mask manufacturer has guidelines on the proper use of the mask and not a single one says it's ok to wear it under the nose. If you have references to studies that prove otherwise, please feel free to share.
Second, given this individuals position, it becomes important to set an example for how these types of devices should be used. The fact that she's black or a female are irrelevant. She may or may not be an idiot, I don't know, but the bottom line is that she is NOT wearing the mask properly.

The fact is that her mask is on tight and mouth (primary source of droplets from sneezes and coughs) and nostrils are COVERED. You cannot see her mouth or nostrils, which means that they are covered. Those are the FACTS. It's only speculation that her nostrils will not remain covered in a cough or sneeze. Speculation by people who need to find a rationalization/excuse to call a liberal or black person an idiot.
The mask she is wearing is not going to prevent her from breathing in airborne virus particles. Wearing such a mask prevents the projecting out of droplets containing the virus from sneezes and coughs by the PERSON WEARING IT. The way she is wearing it suffices in that regard.
I see her mouth covered as well as nostrils. Maybe the idiots are the ones who do not understand the purpose of the general public wearing masks. It's not to preventing airborne contamination, its to prevent droplets from coughs, sneezes and spit talkers from landing beyond the sender and landing on surfaces or into peoples faces.
You only pointed to this person because she is liberal and black or black and liberal.....take your pick.

If she wanted to cover her mouth only, her nose would be fully exposed.
The masks do both - prevents what is breathed in, and shields what's going on - some more than others based on how they are designed. And stuff does come out of noses as well.
