I didn't know the world needed more tequila to "contribute to society". Wow.

I'm not criticizing Clooney or his pals for making the money they did. I was just pointing out to the OP that Clooney's millions mostly did not come from acting that year.

If it doesn’t contribute to the society, why would millions of people pay for it VOLUNTARILY?

Your definition of contributing to society and my definition of the same are very different.

Millions of people disagree with you by VOLUNTARILY giving up their hard-earned money!

So?

People who save lives through medicine, through police work, through emergency rescue services, through social work...people who teach, who research and develop life changing technologies, who build things that last for a century...people who save souls, who save troubled minds...

ALL of these unnamed people contribute more to society than some movie star who lent his name to alcohol (which, by the way, the world is not short of). Even Clooney's work as a movie star is arguably more important than the money he invested in tequila.

We Should Reprioritize Who Our Nations Heroes Are
What do you mean "we"?

People don't need to be told who they should consider a hero. I know we are told that the "brave men and women in uniform" are heroes, but it should be for each individual to decide.

And it depends on what definition of hero you use.
For me its this one: a being of godlike prowess and beneficence who often came to be honored as a divinity.
