Well it has to happen eventually and a state by state approach makes sense.

Not quite past the peak, technically the peak isn't expected for 2 weeks, but the curve was so flat in Texas the peak isn't much more than it has been for a week or so. Basically there is no threat of the health system being overwhelmed.

Thanks for the information.

Wonder when 300,000 people can get an appointment for a haircut?

Seriously. That's been one of the worst parts of this whole thing for me. I feel like I'm about a week from shaving my head.....so hopefully something happens before then. I had planned on never going back to the Army boot look, but never say never I guess.

It will be interesting to watch what, if any, effect this will have on the numbers. I got a malware warning when I tried to click on the link in the OP. What are they going to start to open?

It's a pandemic everywhere, but Texas has had much lower numbers compared a majority of states and the media doesn't talk much about it.

Harris and Dallas are the two counties to have 1,000+ cases. I have noticed much of Texas has counties with large populations of people that have some of thew lowest per-capita rates in the country. El Paso, McAllen, Laredo all have some of the lowest rates per-capita in the country.

El Paso with well over 800,000 people as of Sunday 04/12 had reported 2 deaths and 269 cases which is a mortality rate of 0.8%

Many of the border counties like Hidalgo and Webb are highly populated and have less 200 cases per county.

Texas has done a fantastic effort with this pandemic as opposed to New Jersey, New York and California.

NYC has had 6,182 deaths with around 8 million

Texas has had 287 COVID-deaths with around 29 million
