And what it the **** does it matter if it's two different sports?? Is there a chart or something that would help parse this out?
Of course Shaq kept his job. Shaq was under an ironclad contract and was the biggest star in his league....Einstein.
That’s a far cry from Kyle ‘Nobody’ Larson who drives for a circuit that’s already in decline. Use your head for more than a hat rack here. SMH
Lol, love the huge deal over this, yet absolutely jack squat over other entertainment areas it is used.
He might as well just hang it up, his career, life is over, hope he has enough money not to have to work any more. It is a no fault society, you mess up at all, the rest of your life is ruined, people will seek you out for the rest of your life to assist in ruining it.
Kanye West says it, he gets nominated for a Grammy, lol.
A famous comedian once said in his act that if the word used ends with an "a" it's ok, but if it ends with an "er" that's where it's not ok. I don't remember who that comedian was, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, ? It was one of them I'm pretty sure.
And ain't that the truth too. I can hear the "n" word ending with an "a" all day long out in public and in rap songs and that doesn't seem to be an issue at all there.
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area as kids, we called each other "dude", "blood", "bro", "homie" all the time. Now a days, the "n" word with an "a" at the end of it is just that. Did this race car driver just use this "new" word? Is there any actual recording of this said race car driver stating his infamous quote?

Yes, he kept his job. Because of course he did.
Slurs for me, but not for thee. Love how standards of decorum and tolerance now depend on one's earning power.
Well then I suppose it should be okay for professional people in racing (a sport followed by those who think of themselves as law-abiding, decent citizens) to go around calling each other "white "tr-sh," "c-nt," "b-tch," and "wh-re." I also guess that since those derogatory words (the n-word included) aren't so bad to those who never had it used to describe them, then use it on your boss that and see how much respect you will get in return.

Again, Kyle Larson ain’t Shaq and wasn’t EVER gonna be on Shaq’s level if he lived ten lifetimes.
As to earning power, it ain’t about Shaq’s personal earning power. It’s about Shaq’s earning power for his league internationally. Despite what Shaq said, he’s a bonafide star in China, and he was a bonafide star in China even after he said what he said about Yao. His Shaq brand sneakers still makes millions in China even though those shoes hardly sell here.
So if you wanna be more outraged than the Chinese themselves, be my guest. They don’t care if you end up on BP meds.
And again, no black person told NASCAR to fire or even punish Kyle Larson. There are no blacks in his chain of sponsors, team managers/owners or in NASCAR leadership. None.

The other thing is that Shaq is a 7'1" 250 lbs+ athlete who you literally can't replace.
Kyle Larson is just one of a million other average size white guys you can throw in a car and tell them to drive fast and turn left.
What an idiot, I guarantee he said this all the time in private, he just happened to get caught. It's clear he casually uses it without a thought, and it has nothing to do with listening to and being influenced by rap music as some say.
As far as his punishment goes, before people complain about "PC run amok," NASCAR has always had an image problem so to speak with certain groups. His stupidity obviously doesn't help matters so it was the right thing for them to do.
He looks mixed race to me. Not the run-of-the-mill cracker. Is he Eurasian?
Yes, he’s mixed.
