After an accidental industrial disaster in December 1984 in Bhopal, India, estimates of deaths run anywhere from 2,000 to 8,000 or more, plus similar numbers added in for injuries.

Union Carbide had to pay more than $800 million (in 2018 dollars) to the families of the dead and injured.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster

Nearly 150,000 are reported dead due to coronavirus worldwide so far - a number likely to go MUCH higher before it's over. And the economies of many countries including the U.S., have been severely damaged.

How much should China pay, and to whom, for the death and destruction they are responsible for?

How likely is is that China will actually pay? (I think I can answer this one)

Won’t happen. China is Corporate America’s union-buster.

It wasn't a "accidental" disaster in Bhopal, it was appalling levels of stupidity.

But tell me folks, how much did the US pay for the Spanish flu? The first case of which was in Kansas, and we hid it so much from the world that Spain ended up being the one who got it named after them.

They have no conclusion where the first case of the Spanish Flu was. There are several thoughts on its origins. However, to this day, there is no confirmation. The KS theory is also among the weakest ones.

So is the china lab theory. This was nature tagging them, it could just as easily have been us. The idea of going after them about this is just utter nonsense.

It is not about the origin, it is about the actions China took in response, specifically any evidence that they attempted to cover up the outbreak.

China being the enemy of the US, should be placed under a Cuban type embargo, it should be against the law for any US company to do business with them, and any company in the world doing business with them not allowed to do business in the US.

LOL. Please. We knew way early what was occurring, and our leadership downplayed it for most of February despite having written memos indicating how serious it was. And you want to go after China? Bwahahahaha

China is the enemy of the US, they should be treated as such.

You want to talk about China or the **** poor US leadership? make up your mind please. US leadership has been traitorous, allowing US companies to operate in China, enriching China thus funding China's military, funding the enemy of the US.

A virus can mutate and jump species anywhere. The next time it could be your back yard. A virus has no recognition of races, religion or political borders. In this case, it may have started in China. That is just a random act of nature. It does not make it 'Chinese' any more than a hurricane is African.

This virus hit China hard, killing 10s of thousands. It shut down one of their major cities for months. They suffered just like Italy or France or any one of a number of other countries. It caught them by surprise since they were the first and they were no more prepared than the rest of world. A world that at least had should have had some idea being it was forewarned.

Was China completely up front with the severity? Probably not. Did they understand all the implications? Probably not. Did their pride get in the way? Probably. Could all this also be said about the US response? Yes.

Lets just hope we have learned something and do the right thing going forward.
