What are the terms of this contract? Unlikely, it calls for full payment upfront.

Speculation on my part, Panthera is acting as a broker to secure masks that meet specification from unknown sources. Why FEMA is paying a serious premium for these masks ( over the 3M contract) may be a function of limited supply vs global and national demand or something else is going on.

Hope media continues to pursue.

And if we find out that they cannot produce these masks then they won't get any money.

This is what we get when we have a big bloated federal government. The same people criticizing this event are the same people demanding more and more bigger federal government. And the thing is the people demanding the bigger federal government don't even know how stupid they look when they're complaining about events like this.

The Trump administration paid a bankrupt company with zero employees $55 million for N95 masks, which it's never manufactured
This is the kind of incompetence the Trump admin is famous for. Throw money around just for the sake of doing it, as if that was the solution for every problem.

Yeah, it’s so much better for every hospital and state to compete with FEMA and the world for critical stuff in the midst of a once in a 100 year global pandemic.

As an aside, no one knows the terms of this alleged contract. Was there a deposit?

Regardless, it sounds like this non company is serving as a broker to procure PPE that meets FEMA specifications. Maybe the source is off shore or off 3 Ms loading dock.

These are fema funds not the business loans from the stimulus. Try again.

Barr should investigate said company, sounds like shady dealings.

It was the logical outcome of the world going to a "wartime" footing. In war if you have a crater in a road you don't do the cost effective thing and bring in raw materials contracted out at the lowest price from the quarry, you blow up the house next to a crater to fill the hole and move on.

You just can't have things both ways if you wanted a war on Coronavirus well here is your evidence of the war being fought. If you treated Coronavirus like the yearly flu the measles or even polio before the vaccine then the global shutdown and politicians vowing to stay shut for a period longer than the other team said to save a life would not be going on.

Probably a shell company that will funnel that cash into Trumps pocket, which is as likely a possibility as all the gymnastically fantastic efforts being made to rationalize that its perfectly fine and normal.

Another person who thinks of politicians as one of their gods or devils as if the President, who didn't need the money before running or in retirement, personally got involved in such little details.

Notice all the deflection from people who always scream about waste and big government.

Of all the companies in the US to choose as a broker you pick a bankrupt company with no employees?

Shame on anyone defending this nonsense. If this happened with a Dem. in office you guys would be screaming mad about this.

Yes, even in an emergency situation I expect enough vetting to find out that it’s a bankrupt company with no employees and no masks or way to make them. Approximately a 15 second google search.
Obama did far, far worse...
