The hospitals are supposed to be overwhelmed yet my cousin was a a protest where she meet several dr’s and nurses who were furloughed. Why would they be furloughed if hospitals are overwhelmed? More and more places making masks mandatory. Neighbors turning in others for being outside (even though you are allowed to). I’ve noticed cops driving around my neighborhood and parked in the park areas. We are in a middle to upper class neighborhood. Most police presence I’ve noticed. It almost feels like we are being turned into a totalitarian society. Interesting how many states with republicans governors are starting to open up their states but democrat run states aren’t or haven’t announced yet. Do you think things will ever go back to normal?
Well, since almost all hospitals have cancelled elective surgery, there are lots of medical professionals who are not working, not only doctors, but ER nurses, etc. As we learn more about CV19 and how it can be spread through coughs and sneezes (you know, like all colds and flu), masks are being recommended to mitigate YOUR nasal crud from spraying other people, because you may be asymptomatic.
More cops? Yes, funnily enough they are not as busy as they used to be, at least not on traffic duty. They still need to keep those of limited mental capacity safe from themselves by policing parks and other off-limits areas. Overall, this means they have more time to patrol and keep your neighborhood safe. Be thankful.
Republican states are run by dimwit governors who know their days are numbered and see that their far right wingnuts are rattling their AR-15's. Consequently, they will do anything to appease their constituents. Democratic states are being led by people with more intelligence, integrity and compassion for their constituents.
Personally, no, I don't think things will go back to normal. And I hope they don't. We have had a chance to re-evaluate what's important in our lives, how much of a rat-race we are living in and how much can be done without getting in a metal box and crawling with millions of other people to a miserable cube surrounded by other people in miserable cubes. And yes, I really do feel very badly for those out of work and wondering whether they pay rent or buy food. But that's all part of the capitalistic society we have embraced, one that values our 'output' more than the person... But don't assume what we have is a blueprint for how other countries treat their citizens, because it's at times like this that good state actors and bad state actors really show their true colors... I know what I am seeing is the very dark underbelly of a society ripped apart by one person. And he is orange. You might call it TDS, I call it being honest with myself and others.

No, things will not go back to normal. Good on the democratic states and some republican states that are using wisdom.
The furloughs are driven primarily by pressure from state and federal officials to postpone elective procedures, appointments, diagnostics and other services to preserve hospital beds, while many patients are postponing appointments to observe social distance restrictions.
Stay safe. Take precautions to protect yourself and others in your community. Things are strange and uncertain right now. There's no need to buy into conspiracy theories on top of it.
Can't they [hospitals] swap out the medical staff that have been over-worked by more than 14 hours - even if to get one good night of sleep?
Imho, this madness is from God. He has had enough if the immorality and evil and idolatry in the western countries and is bring them the downfall they deserve.

omg, don't get logical here ... people don't like logical, they like chaos and it is a feeding frenzy.

"God didn't do this, people did."
