People we need to be smart about this. It's a pandemic and we need to shut the economy down right now in order for this virus to die down. Then we can start reopening things. Because if we reopen things too soon a second wave is going to start happening and then that will shut down the economy again so we need to do it right once. So we don't have to keep shutting down the economy. That is a smart thing to do but people are very anxious so they are suggesting stupid crap.
So I guess you didn't get laid off, or work for GOVERNMENT or are retired, and don't own a small business so you are OK with just being shutdown for the foreseeable future? At the minimum, with the first wave (if we believe in waves) this shutdown will be at least a FULL THREE MONTHS. A quarter of the year LOST.
Now you want a second shutdown to avoid a "second wave". So what now, SIX MONTHS gone? Maybe an entire year? Then what happens when the next Virus Season hits??? Just stay shutdown? Yeah right.

That's why the majority of the Left wants to keep the shutdown going. They have a convenient excuse right now, "We're trying to save lives!", but it's mostly politically motivated.
Earlier in the year the CNN panel said sadly "It doesn't look like the economy is going to falter enough before November to give the DNC a chance to win."
Why do you think DNC supporters are so happy right now? It should be obvious. This is their chance......
A second wave is probably inevitable, and perhaps a third and a fourth. The trick will be to keep them from getting too big. People can learn to act in ways that allow for work, and life, to go on.

All the more reason to get things opened as quickly as possible. People are going to be exposed to this bug-no way around it until we have herd immunity. Typically viruses are less severe in the summer, due to UV light (sunlight) killing the virus, warmth and humidity. Summer is also when people's immune systems are at their strongest due to UV exposure boosting vitamin D production and increased physical activity. Want to minimize the "peak" next fall? Get people out of their homes NOW. Waiting is the worst thing we could do, causing a higher peak in the fall/winter, when hospital admissions are already at their highest due to the flu. We should be working to get the general population exposed and to "herd immunity" as quickly as possible, consistent with not overwhelming our health care system.
They are padding the numbers too if you get hit a car and die its the virus, if you a 102 year old man and you die its the virus that killed him not the fact the old man been sick long before the virus came about!!
Le proof ? I have 5 friends all nurses- all in the Virus tents... the virus besides wrecking your lungs, it also destroys your heart and produces major seizures maybe from the fevers- but in any case- only Covid patients go to that area of the hospital. they are dying there.
Do what you want, then. You won't be sick and tired of the whining when you're dead.
I agree . All this whining uses too much energy.
If Americans were as smart as they want the rest of the world to think we are, we should come up with a solution.
