Historians will not be kind. I won't review all the reasons why he will be disparaged by historians and future generations. Could he become as reviled as Herbert Hoover?

Hoover was a hugely popular figure before he was elected President. He was instrumental in relief efforts after the great Mississippi River flood in 1927, was in charge of relief efforts in Belgium after WWI, and a highly successful Secretary of Commerce.

Nobody remembers or talks about any of his accomplishments. They focus on how he handled the one defining crisis is his Presidency.

Trump was handed a pandemic the year of his re-election bid. One that he cannot bully, blame others for, or control. One that frightens him to his core as he is a germophobe. It's his worst nightmare and it is unfolding in front of him in real time.

It's clear the economy will not be restored six months from now. He might not be able to salvage his election hopes but it's still possible for this man to do something good for his country before he is swept out of office.

So what will his legacy be?
Trump will be remembered as the first, and perhaps only, anti establishment, non politician ever elected to office.

Historians may or may not be kind. They will be looking at his presidency 50 years from now and giving him a fair and balanced look.

The virus was already HERE.
Up until 29 January, the WHO held that the virus was not even contagious. That's what we get for trusting them. And I guess Trump is supposed to be the amazing Kreskin. LOL.

Unfortunately he is a symbol of this country's decay from principles and norms. It's not just him....it's his barbarians that stormed the gate and ransacked this country (populism run amuck). We had problems before...many I agreed with but this marked the beginning of the breakdown of civil discourse and possibly the peaceful transfer of power. We will never be seen the same in the world...this has changed our country for the worse.

I don't see how republicans still defend Trump. As this crisis goes on he just makes it worse and worse for himself and it will be tougher and tougher.

And trump didn't stop flights, either.

The travel ban was never a travel ban, merely a Chinese passport-holder ban. Everyone else traveling from China to the US continued to travel from China to the US, 430,000 travelers. As if the virus respects a passport.

And those travelers faced no screening once they arrived here. Not that it mattered anyway, as another poster points out, since the virus was already inside the US.

His legacy will be a complete lack of any leadership skills. Covid is just the latest example.

He will not be reelected. The economic collapse and the Covid-19 pandemic have ensured it. In the short term, he owns both. He will be voted out in November and he knows it.

What will his legacy be?

You know what Biden knows? How to handle a pandemic and NOT divide the American people into red vs blue. He also wouldn't suggest that high level physicians look into whether or not we can inject people with disenfectant and light.

That's ten times more than Trump right there.

Your boy's idiocy is now on full display - daily at 5 PM. I hope he keeps up the Coronavirus Reality show for the next several months.
