Something doesn't add up about those numbers. Typically it's about half the infected that show symptoms. Perhaps it's because the median prisoner age is much younger than the general population? Or maybe the infected who tested positive aren't showing symptoms yet?

The existence of herd immunity for COVID-19 has yet to be established. I hope it exists, I really do.

We are clearly not there yet, but the disease is so contagious that the process towards herd immunity is clearly progressing very rapidly. In fact, there is pretty clearly no way to stop it at this point. That is our way out of this, and the so-called "experts" will not have had really anything to do with it.

If there is immunity, then there is herd immunity.

Has anyone been sick multiple times? That would be the only way to establish there is no immunity.

How long immunity lasts cannot be answered at this stage.

It is time to get back to work with common sense regulations.

There have been reports about people appearing to re-exhibit symptoms of the coronavirus a couple of weeks after they had been thought to have gotten over it. But we do not understand enough about those particular situations to indicate that they failed to develop immunity. It could be a different strain, or maybe they just never really got over it the first time.

The fact is that there are no true "experts" (People who have mastery of understanding of all facets of the virus) with regards to this virus. The people who are supposed to be "experts" clearly do not understand how this bug works very well at all.

What we have a much better scientific grasp on is how antibodies and immunity works. If someone wants to try to challenge that body of deeply studied and explored subject matter and the conclusions that have been reached, then it needs to be done with at least the same scientific diligence that the original work on antibodies and immunity was done. And nothing like that has been done.

With regards to these incidents, there just a few anecdotal reports, without any reliable scientific understanding of exactly what has happened in those incidents.

It is becoming to look quite probable that some mutations are far more deadlier than others.

I should probably hang around those prisons and get a mild version of the virus.

Sort of like cowpox and smallpox.

Maybe a live virus vaccine?

Who gives a damn about these prisoners? They already made their choice when they committed their crime. These tests should be offered to law abiding productive members of society.

The purpose of antibodies being checked on them is to benefit the general population.

In prison, 100% of inmates will never (officially) have symptoms for any infection. Why? Because it’s prison.
