the really shocking part to this is that R.E.M. whom i saw in concert multiple times in the late 80's early 90's is old folks music nowadays. It was one of the first signs I knew i was getting old when a radio station announced they were playing a "Golden Oldie" and it was the Thompson Twins "King for a Day" another mid 80's tune. So both videos could easily apply to Boomers. End of the World is 35 years old at this point, YIKES.

Yeah boomers were still setting the tone for youth culture in 1987.

Yes Gen X music is oldies......as we Gen Xers are getting to be (gasp) old. I’m starting to see those Buick’s as nice comfortable riding cars and all the 70s and 80s music I listen too is “oldies”. I feel like the “oldie” when I hear the Thomson Twins being called an oldies group.
Yeah they caused an economic depression and stuck me with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of debt.
