I'd say that in the current hyper-vigilant climate, if something happened we most assuredly would've heard about it.

Our governors have no guidance by the president in dealing with a global pandemic. They are doing the best they can to keep their state safe. None of them are idiots. They just have no idea what to do. If states open up too soon it will only get worse. If they don't open their economy suffers. Where is the leadership from the president. Why is this pandemic left up to governors.

Because, as so many on the left and the media insisted on pointing out when when he claimed that only he had the power to determine when to "open up"-he has no such authority and it is indeed actually the lawful responsibility of state governors. Trump has given his guidance-open up. The federal guidelines for "lockdown" ended on May 1st.

And somehow POTUS does? And POTUS can magically know what is best for every given state, the distinction of which has been brutally but candidly brought to the fore by CV19? You would rather POTUS take the least affected state and give a single edict? You would rather POTUS take the most affected state and give a single edict? Bottom line is that if POTUS has access to better experts, then this information should be disseminated, but actual LAW and DIRECTIVES should 100% be allocated to the states, and in many cases, to specific municipalities within states (e.g. what works for Los Angeles isn't necessarily meaningful to Redding). Honestly, you really want "one size fits all, reality be damned" laws to come from the top?

And to be clear, if there is a governor that "just have not idea what to do", then they have no right controlling the well being of an entire state.

This shouldn't be about the left or right. This should be about mankind. This virus is affecting all of our country and the world. We need to be united not divided. Trump has made this so political though.

Hopefully one can taste the irony dripping from this statement

Yes, we're all in this together. I'm so tired of all the partisan sniping.

We'll agree to disagree

This is a coronavirus, there are generalities - we just haven't found all of them (yet).

For example, there was this "mystery" about a hyper-coagulative state - influenza has also shown this outcome:

I can't get past the NYT paywall. Is this referring to the children who had Kawasaki Syndrome ?

Trump is not only making it political, so are the media and various governors (especially Whitmer of Michigan) are as well.

Thank you. You are describing Trump perfectly! Just switch out the word governor for president.
