So what? Small towns are small towns. Everyone knows everyone and they’re all up in each other’s business. Austin has the friendliness of a small town with the privacy and anonymity of a big city. That’s pretty awesome in my book.

Its the 11th largest CITY in US, with a population of about 1 million, and the metro area is over 2 million.

And no, I am not buying your "I live in Austin, so I know him". Over 2 million people live in Austin, so I very much doubt you know everyone.

But who knows, maybe the leftists are joining the alt-right in this nonsense. It would be surprising, but who knows.

They are.

Don't tell me these people are all alt-right because I won't believe you.

I get what @bobbiethegreat means when they say that Austin is a small town in many ways and I _have_ lived in an actual small town. Perhaps you would disagree less if the statement was that Austin still retains a lot of the feel and aspects of a small town despite it's size.

I don't know who, or know what they are but how does a bunch of teenagers in a house party translate to a protest? The second video is not about protests either, its police using excessive force trying to take some people down, and they are being investigated.

I read there a bunch of prohibition style drink-houses in Europe, but that does not translate to a protest, since they are simply drinking in a hiding place while bars are closed.

What a sheer myth you brought up. Nobody knows everybody's business in a small town unless the town is really SMALL in population, such as from being too small to have a Wal-Mart. That likely means under 5,000 in population. Even then it must be a full time job of not minding your own damn business.

I imagine their heads exploding at those tv shows that follow Game Wardens, who make hunters and fisherman show their licenses and then measure their catch. They also depend on people (oooh Karens) reporting sportsmen who are violating fish and game rules.

These rules and laws exist to protect the environment but some people think they own the world and rules don't apply to them. Spoiled, entitled children in adult bodies.

Maybe all of the experts on Austin who have never actually lived in Austin should go on the Austin sub forum and start spouting off all their expertise on Austin and see what responses they get. Should be pretty entertaining.
