Rhode Island's governor, Democrat Gina Raimondo, has ordered the Rhode Island National Guard to go to summer homes of New Yorkers in Rhode Island looking for people there to order them to self-quarantine for 14 days. She also has ordered a check point on the highway to stop New Yorkers entering the state, gather contact information, and order them to self-quarantine.

Cuomo said that this is discriminatory and not inclusive; and thus has threatened to sue. Under normal times he would almost certainly win. Also, anyone anywhere could have Covid-19, but NYC is surely the hotspot in the US at the moment and New Yorkers are entering Rhode Island in big numbers.

Moreover on NYC as a hotspot, his talk of "inclusivity" smacks of the idiocy that helped make this mess bigger than what it should have been (think not only letting the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade to continue in NYC, but Cuomo foolishly encouraging New Yorkers to attend and mingle amongst the thousands of Chinese tourists in mid-February during the outbreak as a sign of diversity being a strength).

Good for the governor of RI. She is protecting the lives of her constituents. The funny thing is that you hear nothing about Cuomo's mishandling from the left (in fact, they want him for president) leading up to this, yet every thread from a leftist on this board is about how Trump was inept at the beginning and nothing he does now could ever make up for it. And Cuomo is still blabbering about diversity and inclusion in the middle of this pandemic! The left has some serious issues for sure!

My personal favorite Cuomo rant was when President Trump informed the Nation that whiny Cuomo had a lot of masks, ventilators and tons of supplies in "storage" while NY doctors and nurses were begging for them. Cuomo say NO - Trump is wrong and ignorant. They are in my Stockpile (like his Stockpile much be in his back pocket and not in "storage") for 21 days from now when we reach the PEAK.

He is essentially hoarding them. Just like his shelter in place apparently doesn't mean stay inside in New York ..... invading other States and taking the WuFlu with you is just hunky-dory.

It really is weird that there is a faction fawning over Cuomo while ignoring every blunder and misstep.

"He speak real pretty-like."

In this case, diversity is a weakness.

Raimondo (D) has been courageous for a number of years. When she was State Treasurer, (might not have the title exactly right), she spearheaded right sizing the state pension plan, which as is typical, was over indulgent with cost of living, length of service to qualify for and so forth.

I'm sure she has done some, maybe many unpopular things in the eyes of Rhode Islanders, but I like the tenor of these two instances of gubernatorial leadership.

Cuomo is incompetent and selfish and the media kisses his rear like they did Obama.

Gina Raimando is a far left wing open borders Democrat. Why the change of heart Gina? If Trump's a racist for wanting to control the border, what does that make you?

I bet you point and laugh at people who buy snow boots in the fall because it’s still warm outside, too. What about “anticipated need” is so hard to grasp?
