[The Trump administration has] gutted that place. They’ve gagged that place. I can’t get calls returned anymore. Nobody down there is feeling like it’s safe to talk. Have you even seen anything important and vital coming out of the CDC?” Garrett said.
On Wednesday, Garrett spoke to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and continued to sound the alarm about the silencing of the CDC, calling it a “tragedy.”

Maybe he read what they were suggesting and it went against his philosophy. Wouldn't be the first time. What the CDC produced could have been a communist manifesto for all we know.
I know people want to elevate government "experts" to God-like status, but they are fallible human beings like everyone else.
Trump runs the show and he is responsible. It is what it is.
And honestly - why do I need 17 pages of government telling me what to do? Just check in your brains and let the CDC live my life for me.

Hey, while very true that most people are NOT dying from the virus, some of them are requiring hospitalization for a month or two from it as this news story proves. It won’t destroy it. But things will be different for a while. It will get back to “normal”. Difference is we will be more cautious, and hopefully better prepared for the next time this happens... Because it will. Not tomorrow, maybe not next year, maybe in 100 years.
And until we find a viable treatment/vaccine or we all get immunity, its gonna be different.
