Obama was speaking with members of the Obama Alumni Ass'n, and during the 30-minute call, he was explaining to the group why there needed to be strong leadership to manage the crisis. He was trying to get the former staffers to get active in Joe Biden's bid to replace President Trump.

Obama then launched into his assessment of the way Trump has handled things, saying, "What we're fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy -- that has become a stronger impulse in American life."

And, then you hear the former Prez in the audio obtained by Yahoo! News ... calling Trump's response to COVID-19 "an absolute chaotic disaster." He said, "It would have been bad even with the best of governments. It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset -- of 'what's in it for me' and 'to heck with everybody else' -- when that mindset is operationalized in our government."

Obama is clearly referring to Trump hijacking the daily briefings and spending endless amounts of time talking about what a great job he's done and lying about the availability of tests. And, then there's the whole thing about ingesting disinfectant

So sayeth the GREATEST president in the history of mankind. Doing damage control because of the corruptness of his administration. The heat is on, which is why Obama has surfaced! I'm expecting the bench (Clinton, Sharpton, Rice, Schumer, Comey, Harris, Pocahontas, Waters, AOC, Pelosi)to show up at any minute to confirm every thing Obama is preaching!

I can only imagine DJT's burning rage after hearing that from Obama. The Twitter feed is going to be busy all night and a caps lock key may need replacing.

No, he is rejoicing because he knows Obama is sweating or there would have been no comment.

You guys will be on here defending him for doing it.
So you deflect and talk about Trump in the future rather than what Obama is saying now ?
Obama should have kept his mouth shut just like tradition has dictated for former Presidents.

Bush, on the other hand, maintained the tradition.

Here's what Bush said:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/03/u...rus-unity.html
In a video, the former president, who generally avoids speaking out on current affairs, urged Americans to “remember how small our differences are” in a time of crisis. President Trump swiped at him in response.

Obama has held his tongue on Trump for years. So has Bush. Say whatever bad things you want about them (not you personally) but they were a calm in the storm for our country during trying times which every president should be. We have just the opposite with Trump. It's all about him and not our country. Where is the leadership? Where is the compassion that presidents show for the people of our country. This has been going on since January, actually before that. And Trump hasn't really done anything.

So.....Obama hates Trump with a passion, based on what he said recently, but.... decided not to say a thing about Trump for the 3+ plus years prior to this?

What he said was true, which is why even Trump supporters in this thread can't argue against, so every reply has just been nothing but general same old attacks on Obama.

You can still say that about Bush but not about Obama any more.
