Thumbs down Targeting the "man" first, then proceeding to find or fabricate a crime.

No. Class and success envy would become the handmaidens of the political faction(s). If the IRS has not prosecuted a candidate, then it is on with the campaign.

“Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”. Lavrentiy Beria the most ruthless and longest-serving secret police chief in Joseph Stalin’s reign of terror in Russia and Eastern Europe, bragged that he could prove criminal conduct on anyone, even the innocent.

Targeting the "man" first, then proceeding to find or fabricate a crime.

So, yea, would be nice to know something about his past.

They have? Trump said he would release them as soon as IRS was done. I guess we'll see them soon

But then again, Trump has said 18 000 things which turned out to be lies.

No, it would keep a lot of wealthy people from running for President. There are a lot of things people with money and accounting teams do to hold onto as much of it as possible. Every single thing can be perfectly legal and likely is as these type of people are always audited but optically it would look bad for them and could disclose a lot of business information that could hurt them, their families and their businesses. For instance i like Mark Cuban and so do a lot of people, including on the left. I imagine he has had some very creative things done to his tax returns, that although legal, any opponent could make a lot of political ads to make him seem a crook to the uneducated.

Only suckers want to intentionally know LESS information about their leaders. Literally the definition of willful blindness.
