He is in a well to do district. Perhaps it is just these districts that are still teaching and working remotely.

PS- I'm a conservative, as is he.
I am in a well to do district as well. I know teachers that are working and one teacher (who didn't seem to be doing much BEFORE all of this) is doing nothing I can see.

Teachers are getting paid their full salaries and huge benefits to sit at home and do NOTHING.

Probably the same thing that happens every flu season, some people will get sick?

Notwithstanding the fact that the mortality rate for COVID-19 for those under 18 is statistically zero,
Research in Australia found children under 19 are not the primary spreaders of COVID-19.

And a French study also shows children may not be spreaders of the coronavirus.

But some scientists like "Germany’s top coronavirus expert say children play as big a role as adults in spread" of the coronavirus.

What else must happen if the Democrat officials insist on keeping schools closed this fall?
"Children up to the age of 11 are returning to nurseries and schools across Denmark."

Some cities in Germany have already reopened their high schools
https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020...response-risk#

Some schools and nurseries in Norway have already reopened, Switzerland is no longer separating grandparents from grandchildren, France opened primary and nursery schools on May 11th, and Germany has begun reopening Playgrounds.

Americas fall semester begins 4 months from now, and in 4 months there will be lots of new research showing if its safe to reopen Americas schools.

Nonsense premise. I live in the Ruby Red South. And Republican officials have not said they are opening school.

They can't explain their hypocrisy. A Democrat Governor's school closing policy is socialism, corruption, etc....and a Republican Governor's school closing -- crickets..you hear nothing.

We had one case in our community and they closed the schools. The one case was from someone who had traveled and she had immediately isolated herself knowing she could be contagious.

But he closed all the schools.

This.

I can tell who my son's best teachers are. The difference in this mess is not subtle.

I have one teacher that is living on her cell. I get an email back within 5 minutes of my email. 5 MINUTES. Sometimes at 645 AM. She is amazing.
Then another of his teachers.... not so much. Fortunately not a core subject.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, a Republican and Arizona Secretary of Education Kathy Hoffman, a Democrat are trying to have Arizona schools open in August for the 2020-21 school year. Hoffman is working with districts to come up with plans for the school year and ways students and staff can social distance. I as an educator hope we make the right choice, especially with the Kawasaki Syndrome risks.
