Everyone in their right mind wants either a treatment or a vaccine. Hopefully it pans out. Hydroxychloroquine was rejected simply because it wasn't effective.
Very early days for this treatment. So far it's only been tested on cells in the lab. The only real accomplishment has been doubling the price of shares in Sorrento Therapeutics.

If you read the entire article it’s no miracle cure and how effective it eventually may be depends a lot on how fast the virus mutates. It’s another weapon against the virus but most likely not a cure all.
Nothing is 100% effective. People's bodies are different. And what, if someone is literally a minute from dying, and you give them a magic pill, it will cure the effects from covid in seconds?
If someone tells you a medicine is 100% effective you can instantly know they're lying.
There are a lot of places in a lot of countries all over the world looking for a cure or a vaccine. This one is only in the very early stages but who knows? (They don't.) About all we can do is hope and pray that someone will come up with something within around a year. Probably it will take longer. We just have to try to wait it out the best we can.
