Violent Rioters Breach Ohio Statehouse, Breaking Windows and Entering Building to Protest Death of George Floyd

by Paula Bolyard
May 29, 2020 2:52 AM EST

Rioters in Columbus, Ohio, launched an attack on the Statehouse in the early hours of Friday morning to protest the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Floyd, who was unarmed and subdued with handcuffs, died after a police officer pinned his neck to the ground with his knee and held it there until he stopped breathing.

Protests and riots are ongoing in several cities around the U.S., including Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., Memphis, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., Denver, Colo., Los Angeles Calif., and Columbus, Ohio.

The Statehouse in Columbus came under attack, with rioters breaking windows and some entering the building. There are unconfirmed reports that the protesters damaged the interior of the building.
What does “ the usual” violent thugs mean?

Peaceful protestors, violent rioters and looters were/ are a diverse, multi- cultural, ultimate- racial crowd of people.

Same for the protests happening in other cities.

Getting so sick and tired of seeing nothing but COVID crap and Cuomo on TV for the last 3 months. We were due for a change of pace.
Ok, never mind my last post. THIS post is the most “Murica” post I have seen in awhile.

Bingo. This is the absolute worst situation to win the Oval Office in. Joe Biden isn’t ready for pandemics and race riots. This man hides in his basement.

It’s a disasters for all democrats who preach the “government is good.” When government employees literally kill citizens.

Every gun owner and pro 2nd amendment person is celebrating right now. What they’re watching on TV, justifies their gun ownership. NRA is partying right now.

Good - it's about time. These are early indications of rebellion, when people begin burning the police stations, city halls and state houses, NOT the small businesses of their neighbors. Attack the source, not the victims.

"We the People" have allowed an authoritarian police state to build around us and engulf us. In Minneapolis we are seeing continued jack booted thuggery by so-called law enforcement with the arrests of major media reporters (oppression of the free press) and arrests of apparently lawfully armed citizens and the unconstitutional siezure of their guns.

Every action of government seems to occur nowadays without consent of the People, and usually against the Will of the People. We are now ruled and repressed as subjects, by tyrants, not in partnership as a free citizenry.

Who do the police serve? They certainly don't protect or serve the People. They forgot they work for us. They think it is our job to support and be subserviant to the police state.

Like when Trump said, "I am the ultimate authority." (Or words to that effect.) In a free democracy it is the People who hold the ultimate authority. And when, like now, The People enforce that authority, the police state doesn't like it and comes down on the populous like an iron hammer.

This must stop. We all know there are bad and dangerous people among us. We NEED "peace officers" to Protect and Serve and defend the weak. What we have is "law enforcement" by poorly trained bullies and thugs who are poorly versed in the laws they enforce, who are widely unable to distinguish between minor infractions and dangerous criminals. And who all too frequently employ excessive fore when unnecessary.

And the ongoing epidemic of murders of black people by police nationally is an atrocity that must stop. There are too many to list, George Floyd, Phillandro Castille, the EMT girl last week, the guy who was selling cigarettes, I can't even remember their names, and hundreds of others like them who die and are forgotten, but are not serious threats to public safety.

Stop the Repression.

I hope every business that is looted, burned and/or vandalized RELOCATES to a more civilized area. When these communities find themselves WITHOUT GROCERY STORES, RETAIL OUTLETS, RESTAURANTS, etc., maybe the adult residents of these areas will take responsibility for their neighborhoods & show the rioters why it's not smart to burn their own communities down.

The only things Joe Biden is ready for is his 2pm session with his Visiting Angel and then his 3pm nap.
