I find it interesting that back in the day, protests were held at government and political offices, so that the politicians could see just how many people are upset and want change. Today's protests (riots, looting, burning) happen at TV stores, Cell Phone stores, Jewelry stores, Nike stores, etc. Hmmmm.

So far, Boston protests have been largely peaceful. There have been some bad actors in the crowd, some violent clashes with police, some use of pepper spray and some people sent to the hospital. But there haven't been businesses looted and burned to the ground, police stations and city offices overwhelmed and sacked. Basically, the cops have been enough to deal with the problems they have had so far. Hope it stays that way.

I stayed up late last night watching the riot in Ferguson on TV, there wasn't anything else on.
It started as a peaceful protest until some guy threw a smoke bomb at the cops, then all hell broke loose. They started smashing out the windows of the police station with baseball bats, a fat cop got hit in the back with a water bottle, then turned and gave them the finger.
There were a couple of guys shooting bottle rockets and Roman candles at the cops and a protestor threw something at the two who were shooting them, then he got hit in the head with a bottle rocket.
It lasted about an hour until they ran out of fireworks.

See what happens come sunup. This is just nuts. This isnt protest. This is anarchy. The footage I'm seeing from all over is disgusting. Thievery and plumb ignorance. I've been casting a jaundiced eye on LE for a while now and its NOT just a Black thing.

But this isnt justice or protest. This is pure criminality.
Back when.....Rodney King begged rioters to stop. He was ignored. Likely he then realized it had nothing to do with him.

The majority of jobs are concentrated in urban areas.

80% of the population lives in urban metro areas, which includes suburbs.

My suburb and the suburbs next to us had protests. No rioting or looting though.
