Perhaps President Biden and the other fully vaccinated folks will follow the science (and common sense) and peel of their (double) masks. The ridiculous virtue signaling is undermining serious efforts to convince the vaccine-hesitant folks.
On another front, the CDC will be announcing tomorrow that the earth is found.

Clearly fully vaccinated people in Washington state and other states are getting seriously ill and sometimes dying from COVID19, the same with Minnesota and a bunch of other states, so clearly vaccinated individuals can get sick and die from COVID, and they can spread it if they have viral levels high enough to get hospitalized by COVID. So that study is a joke. Honestly the reporting on all these COVID "studies" by the media are atrocious and it's very frustrating for anyone trying to come to firm conclusions. It's maybe understandable when data are conflicting, but the claim of this "study" is obviously contradicted by recent facts by state reporting agencies! Incompetent and unacceptable.
To this point the CDC has been honest and saying we don’t know if vaccinated people can spread the virus. It would have been irresponsible if they gave the all clear and it turned out to be wrong. Now, if more data is available, they may change their recommendations. Perfectly appropriate.

The vaccine has been shown to be 95% effective. That leaves 5% ineffective. Anyone with a brain would look at the cases in Washington and Minnesota and realize this is exactly as expected. The percentage of vaccinated people getting sick is far below the number for unvaccinated.
The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are 95% effective. That means that 5% of the people who get those vaccines, can still get Covid. Washington and other states are proving that now.
What we're hoping for, is that the 5% who can still get Covid, will only be able to get it from the rest of the 5%, instead of from 100% like a year ago. And most of those 5% still haven't caught Covid, so can't transmit it to the few other 5%ers they come in contact with. The virus won't find enough people it can jump around to, and so eventually dies out.

No, they're not, we have no idea about the case comparison in Minnesota and Washington between vaccinated and unvaccinated COVID rates because those numbers weren't provided for the second group. You keep tossing around this 95% number like it's automatic but there are a lot of asterisks to it. It's a relative effectiveness not absolute, most of the claim is based on a symptom reduction that went from already mild to slightly more mild. It doesn't tell us so much about protection for people who'd get serious cases because as we learned recently, the Pfizer and Moderna trials underrepresented vulnerable populations, which is the most important population to be tested in such trials anyway. Maybe it reduces symptoms somewhat in severe hospitalized cases which would technically count as "being effective" but if it's minimal symptom reduction, that's useless in practice. We also don't know how long that protection supposedly lasts, what's the percentage effective a month after the shots? 2 months? Our doctor said it's probably way below 95 percent, and the hospitals are seeing more vaccinated patients come in with severe COVID as they go farther out from their shots. What about individual variation in response? What about the mutants that even the main vaccine labs have found are far less sensitive to the antibodies the vaccines make? I wouldn't say the 95% number is nonsense, but more and more it's becoming clear it's misleading.
In other words, you are talking based on what you don't know instead of what you do know. And since you weren't on the development or testing teams, you really know nothing and are just putting the most pessimistic guesses you can, just because you can. I'll stick to the conclusions of the test team, who back them up with actual work, tests, and results, until someone shows me better evidence.
In fact, the people who developed it and tested it, say they are 95% effective. That's very good news, even if it leaves you with little complain about. It definitely puts us on the fast track to herd immunity.
