Here's my take on the situation.

Chauvin is a murderer and he's going to jail for the rest of his life.

Thao is going to get some serious jail time.

Kueng and Lane should be acquitted, and should get their jobs back. Let's make sure that Sharpton, Obama, and company get the word out to their peeps that the cities are not to be burned to the ground.
No they should not be acquitted--- they were negligent and complicit. They shouldn't get the full sentence but they are human beings that aided in the death of a man.

In fact, I think Ellison is setting up for that very thing by upping the charge. It will be hard to get a conviction, and it will be Lord of the Flies all over again when that disgusting cop gets acquitted. If I were on the jury, I’d hold out on my vote - saying I couldn’t decide - until after Election Day.

(This was always an organized effort to cause even more racial division. Campaign tactic. The truth is that police killed only 9 unarmed black men the past year out of tens of millions of interactions with blacks.)

Wait till Election Day to decide, why and how do you draw a connection that this a "Campaign tactic"? This will be a court trial not a campaign event. The way you say only "9 unarmed black men" makes it sound that its within acceptable limits......

Initially I was snarky, but...you may have a point. I'm not sure about getting their job back, but maybe not getting nuked like the veteran officers.

Definitely something that should be taken into consideration during a trial.

The murder of an innocent man, BTW. In America Floyd was "innocent until proven guilty". The "police" were called because he allegedly passed a fake twenty dollar bill, which, if it was a good forgery, might have looked real to him.

How does a first year med student know that the chief surgeon is not murdering his patient while under the knife during a demonstration????

I doubt anyone other than the guy pressing on Floyd's neck could hear him. Perps will say anything for relief and then try to get an advantage.

Political pressure? How about common sense?

Those guys have no business being cops. They are supposed to protect people, not stand by and watch while they are murdered.

As to being rookies, if they don't know right from wrong, they've got no business being cops.

As to how they would do this, all it would likely have taken is for one of them to get through to Chauvin that there were witnesses all over the damn place and they might as well take Floyd to booking before someone files another #### harassment lawsuit.

I worked on Crisis Response teams with cops for years. This works.

You engage, then get them to see the personal benefit to backing off. Make is sound macho.

This is 101 stuff.
