Ahhh...Tucker laid it out. The goal is to defund police (whom Democrats hate because they don't control them). The police usually go red. So they defund them....the only group in America they don't control besides the military (the other group they are always trying to defund). Then they create their army of 'social workers' who answer to them. It's so obvious once he laid it out.

The goal of 'defund the police' tends to be to put that money towards programs that improve communities. Arresting people doesn't deter them from committing more crime (one of the surest ways to create a lifelong criminal is to throw a young person in jail for a minor offense). The concept behind 'defunding the police' is to create social and community improvement programs so that people live in an environment that fosters less crime. Whether you believe that will happen or not is up for debate, but it's an admirable goal.

The goal is to move a portion of police funding to preventative programs rather than just be reactionary.

Uh, both teams disagree on where to spend the stolen money. I don't need Tucker Carlson to figure that out.

What's your point besides the armed robbery is ok?

Sounds like boondoggle speak.

But when you can just steal the funding, why not give it a try?

Are you really that naive? Do you know how many "progress" already exist for that? We spend billions on that stuff. This is purely to replace police with more LEFTISTS to be more controlled by the radicals in Democrat Government. That's all. It is a power grab.

Actually lots of funding has been cut from those programs...and gone to police. But that was largely the will of the voter voting down levies for things other than police/fire. People just seeing the consequences of that. Instead of treating mental health issues for the public good we’ve just got them roaming the streets undiagnosed/treated.

People really need to stop making this a legitimate dialogue. It’s totally asinine.

Oh, I think its totally legitimate and this debate should have happened years ago!

Police have TOO MUCH authority imo, they need to loose a good deal of it and maybe some of these problems would be resolved.

How about this for a total conflict of interest...in drug cases, police get to keep the cash and property seizures, (and usually the drugs themselves...which 9 out of 10 times, end up back on the street anyway). I have a HUGE problem with this.

Im doing all I can to make people aware of this insanity, I passed out informational flyers at our local protest yesterday, talked to a lot of great people, Im also sending messages to my congressmen and senator to let him what Im concerned about.

Ever watch Blackhawk Down? Remember what Mogadishu looked like? That is the goal of defunding police.
