I'm fed up with the direction both parties as well as the country are heading and unhappy I haven't really voted for a candidate for POTUS since George McGovern.
It’s a tiny vocal minority that screams the loudest.
It’s like asking republicans if the alt right or white supremacist groups make it hard to stay a republican.
The extremists are the minority they just have the loudest voices
As a Libertarian who does not have skin in the game for either party the alt right people are a very small group with zero representatives in government and only seem to be taken seriously by Democrats. The only example to Alt Right is Antifa which is blown out of proportion by the Republicans.
But the democrats are being taken over by the far left. Not antifa left but radicals who are in power in Washington and around the country.
The left has Bernie, AOC and many like her in Washington and around the country and are growing in importance and if Biden wins will probably get everything they ask for. They want to make radical changes to everything and I think are a danger to our republic. Yes the GOP has crazy Trump but their ideals are to keep things the same.
I don't favor either party but the dems really scare me this time.

Correction: The constitution gave Donald Trump the presidency. Democrats always seem to forget this simple little fact.
I agree, and I'm not a screaming liberal by any means, but a centrist person. There are a lot of us and we are tired of being called "lefties" and such simply because we loathe trump and what he and his enablers have done to the environment, public lands, regulation of many kinds (clean air/clean water), the ridiculous tax cut to the zillionaires, the support for right-wing judges, union busting,
and oh, yeah, the attacks on the Constitution.
While in the military, I swore allegiance to the Constitution, not to any person or party. That oath is for life. There is no Republican Party left, it trumpian/enablers and anti-Americans. And the thing is, trump will throw anyone and any one group under the most immediate bus if it suits him, including his ghastly children.
Same outlook as DH. He lost it with some neighbors who were saying real bullets need to be used on protesters (NOT looters). He went on a rant that he did not serve in the military to support people using unnecessary force on peaceful protesters, that he supports the Constitution for all protesters. Needless to say, we will not be making friends with those neighbors. But he is right.

-Defunding and in some cases calls to abolish the police, which will cause increases in crime and the emboldenment of criminals.
- Police being attacked, cursed at, spit on and killed just for wearing the uniform with absolutely no inclination they have done anything wrong to warrant being attacked.
- Forgiving bail for rioters, not prosecuting them.
- Letting dangerous criminals out of jail for Covid.
Let me see if I get this logic correct.. our society, through due process and an judgement of peers has found people dangerous enough to be removed from society but because of the coronavirus, their welfare takes precedence over the safety of the community. So if a murderer gets released for covid and goes and murders someone, what about the consideration for the safety of that victim?
