So ban make up because black people treat their own darker people worse than lighter skin ones. Gee that makes sense lol.
Maybe they need to have #all hues matter marches in the black community to help get rid of their evil colorist views??
Colorism has been a thing for 100s of years, and isn't some new wokeism. Also this seems to be an international approach as fair and lovely is a product mostly sold to the South Asian (India/Hindustan) market.
Example in certain parts of the world darker skinned people of the same ethnicity were often looked down upon as if you stayed inside all day your skin didn't tan and got paler, and mostly royalty/nobles were the most likely in society to be indoors, and if you worked on farms especially as some sort of serf, you were significantly tanner. This lead to darker people being looked down upon, and till this day the darker people are seen as yeoman while lighter folk are seen as royalty/ or better looking without actually being better looking, just lighter.
This has been recognized across multiple societies, and is fairly new to America, it's almost 100% an international effort, just like the above ad to ban an Indian product that's sold by a British Company from it's Indian HQ.
Just now seeing your comments. Thank you. It's hilarious to me that people think everything has to do with them and their cultural terminology.
The Dark is Beautiful campaign has been going on in India for years now, encouraging Indians, especially Indian women to embrace their complexion. There are other efforts as well. The issues is complex. It stems from the age old color issue based on royalty vs. others, mixed with religion and the effects of colonialism.

Fair and Lovely is not makeup. It is has nothing to do with Black people but South Asians more than anything else. You people are so obsessed with black people that you make everything about them. Please get yourselves together,

Are you denying that colorism exists within the black community as well and there is no market for skin lightener within that market as well?
No, but we are taking about a petition against Fair & Lovely. Fair & Lovely was/is largely marketed in the South Asian community. Just because you are obsessed with black people doesn't make any and everything about them.
Note that the person who started the petition is a South Asian woman.
Do yourself a favor and search Fair & Lovely on Youtube. Almost everything related to it is based out of or related to South Asia.

Just showing the hypocrisy of the black community within today's black lives matter focus. Even they discriminate against darker skinned people as it appears does every culture on the planet.
So again, maybe we need an #all hues matter movement to educate people?

Again, Fair & Lovely is marketed to South Asians. You seem to have an overly obsessive attitude when it comes to black people. In fact, you didn't even know it was a bleaching cream. Anyway, even a glance at the names of those who signed the petition would show you where the marketing predominantly among South Asians. Colorism exists around the world.

a lot of things exist around the world. does that make them less ridiculous?
So the obese black lady with blonde hair that has her talk show (Wendy Williams maybe??)....that isn't racist to these people too?
Exactly. What about hair color, hair straightener and wigs black ladies like to wear.
Why not embrace the natural black afro?
Seriously why cant people just leave other people alone and let them use whatever products they choose, look however they want. Who the heck even has time to worry or think about such nonsense.

Who said it wasn't ridiculous?
The point is that the only person in here who had a clue was NigerianNightmare. It's crazy that you people think everything is about your society and the black people you obsess over. It's not even makeup.
