I'm trying to figure out why you are posting seemingly random things you googled up on the internet, into this topic.

Liberals love Republican states. They go there to escape the Democrat hell holes like the one that Tesla is moving from.

Musk screwed up by building putting a car plant in California in the first place.

They gave him welfare benefits in CA. Texas outbid CA in welfare benefits this time around. Stands to reason with CA having given out the benefits for so long. This joint is broke.

You conservatives/Republicans crack me up. All this does is make your area the next "liberal hellhole"...well...minus the weather/physical beauty/beach.

Texas is already showing up as “tied” in some POTUS polls at this time. Beto only lost by a little over 2 points for Sen Cruz’ senate seat in an off election year. The acceleration to blue will happen in Texas.

Bye bye California. Tesla is apparently moving to Texas.

Leftists never seem to understand the basic fundamental realities of costs vs benefits and also the balance of supply and demand.

California's Democrat government overplayed its hand with regards to its coronavirus lockdown policy and Tesla has apparently had enough. This was not the only problem that Tesla had with the authoritarian, anti-business left that runs that state. But is looks like it might be the last.

This could create an estimated 5,000 jobs in Texas for this manufacturing facility. Presumably that many jobs will also be lost from California.

5 million does not buy much land around Austin.

Correct.

Conservatives/Republicans think that businesses suddenly became "upset" with California's politics therefore they started moving to conservative/Republican states.

No, that's not the reason.

The reason is the liberal cities/states eventually became too strained to continue to give the financial freebies they once did. That's all the conservative states are doing now.

And they think the end result won't be the same?

When Texas runs out of freebies the businesses will pack up for another state not ravaged by government freebie-drainage.

The reason why California was able and is still able to retain a good deal of talent/business here is due to the still superior higher education base as well as the weather/beauty. People of incredible wealth/accomplishment still need to have a release after work and driving down the PCH can't be matched in Fort Worth.

Texas won't have that advantage when the financial strain hits so they'll bottom-out harder and quicker.

Where will their headquarters be located? That is the tax revenue generator, not the factory that will always claim a loss to prevent local taxes in Texas.

In other words, Tesla just wants cheap land, no taxes, and cheap labor. But the executives don't actually want to live in Texas. I'm very used to these stories and their end result of no real gain as a resident of Florida.

This is in the industrial part of town, on the outskirts. It sounds like a reasonable price for what they are purchasing. And they can buy more, if they want to.

The cost of the land will just be the tip of the iceberg with regards to the cost of this project. Building it out and moving their current operations out of California will be hugely expensive.

You can't just throw money at the people who already have a ton of money to move from a desirable place to an undesirable place.

That's what the cons/Repubs don't understand.
