If people insist on ignoring how politics has changed in 400 years there is nothing to talk about.

I believe I read the NRA was created to give BLACKS the RIGHT to "keep and bear arms" so they could defend themselves against the DEMS who wanted to beat them up and HANG them.

Those who really know history know that the Republican party of the 1800s isn't the Republican party of today.

Lincoln today would be a democrat.

I'm not the one saying blacks are so helpless they cannot get an ID to vote.
The ones who get it are conservative. Doesn't matter what race one is, the ones who want to run their lives like adults should, want less government control.

No you don't. You just make things up to fit your twisted agenda.

Please explain to me why the black/poor vote went from Hoover to FDR and has been that way ever since?

Republicans don't endorse them. The left runs them for President and elects them as Senators. George Wallace, the segregationist, would have been the democrats presidential nominee in 1972 if he hadn't been shot. Sen Byrd who recruited a klan chapter served a long long time in congress. It wasn't the republicans who voted for them now was it?

The klan has ~5000 members while the biggest hate groups, La Raza and The Nation of Islam are many times larger and actually have some power.

Anything else I can set you straight on?

For those That Were Not Taught History; It Was The Republican Party That Was The Savior Of Blacks
Yes. Back then the Democrats were the party of Jefferson, who was for small government, and later the Republican party was founded to become the social justice warriors. At that time the Democrats were the conservative party, but they split into Northern and Southern Democrats, where the Southerners supported slavery and Northerners opposed it. Eventually things led to the civil war, and the abolition of slavery was actually a strategic maneuver, rather then the reason for the civil war.

The Republicans expanded the role of the government, and introduced the income tax and they became the party of the upper class elite

Quote:
Because of the Republican Party’s association with business interests, by the early 20th century it was increasingly seen as the party of the upper-class elite.

With the rise of the Progressive movement, which sought to improve life for working-class Americans and encourage Protestant values such as temperance (which would lead to Prohibition in 1919), some Republicans championed progressive social, economic and labor reforms, including President Theodore Roosevelt, who split from the more conservative wing of the party after leaving office.

Republicans benefited from the prosperity of the 1920s, but after the stock market crash of 1929 ushered in the Great Depression, many Americans blamed them for the crisis https://www.history.com/topics/us-po...publican-party
I agree, history should be taught. The parties have evolved ans swung from side to side in their effort to oppose whatever the other party was currently promoting.

TheGoodTheBadTheUgly: For those That Were Not Taught History; It Was The Republican Party That Was The Savior Of Blacks
^^^Oh for God's sake!

For those who don't read books or study American History and don't pay attention to current events:

”The night that Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, his special assistant Bill Moyers was surprised to find the president looking melancholy in his bedroom. Moyers later wrote that when he asked what was wrong, Johnson replied, “I think we just delivered the South to the Republican Party for a long time to come.”

The Democratic Party is currently the inclusive party. It is the Party that marched with MLK. It is the Party of John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and John Lewis.

Sorry OP, the Republican Party, currently led by the second President of the Confederate States of America, has no interest in African American citizens and certainly has no valid claim to being the "savior of blacks".

And BTW: People of color do not need to be saved. They have a right to be treated fairly and equally under the Law. Got it? Under the Law not a knee.

Here is a History quiz for you:

Do you know which party attracts racists?

Which party elected the first black president? Which party's members went non-linear when that occurred?

Which party re-elected the black president again, four years later? Which party's members lost their minds and went ballistic because of it?

Class dismissed.
