That's got to be the dumbest idea I've ever... well, the dumbest so far today anyway. Blacks (sub-Saharans) were not a major presence in the Roman Empire. There were slaves but almost all of them were white. What evidence is there that early Christians thought about black people at all?

The nuns taught us this in first grade. 'Boys and girls, Satan is the symbol for black people and all black people are Satan.'

She may have used the *N* word when she taught us this - I can't remember that specific Catechism lesson exactly.
