Perhaps it will stop them right then and there. At the same time, no one has figured out how to prevent future riots. I ask this for this reason. Rioters might get shot, but there are other scenarios. Not everyone gets caught. And in many cases, watching fellow rioters get killed doesn't send a warning to them. And in alot of cases, it hasn't scared the next crop of would-be rioters.

And thus, this is the thing. Protesting and rioting aren't the same thing.

Do tell.
The right to vote for women in all states was achieved by women who were willing to be be beaten and imprisoned. IIRC, some civil unrest was involved.

I certainly believe in private property rights. But not to the point of killing people to due to a phony 20 dollar bill.

Some get all bent out of shape due to looting and and arson.

People who will take tax money paid by all of us and give it to well heeled corporation owners goes unnoticed. Or permit the kind of fraud Wells Fargo did. Got their hands slapped and had to give some money back. IMO, they should have had to shut down.

Why is it awful for some idiot to loot, but ok for some well educated and connected Sec. of the Treasury to take billions in Cares Act tax dollars to subsidize their well heeled and well insured friends?

Its much like the US's policy of not negotiating with terrorists, same thing here, give an inch they will take the entire thing slowly but surely because they smell blood in the water.
Give an inch, they will always take a mile.

Protests change the world. Just look at the Boston Tea Party. It was a protest where they threw tea was thrown into the brink.
Who owned that tea? Not the protesters.

Here's what we do know. Recent events have blurred the lines so much, many consider the two to be the same.

You can thank the idiots at BLM / ANTIFA for that.

Another lesson forgotten. Had it not been for those looters, we'd all be singing "God Save the Queen" at the ballgames.

Throwing tea into Boston Harbor is a bit different from looting a 72 inch TV from Best Buy or Crapmart.
They were not looters, either.

OH, It is ok if you agree with the purpose.

Stealing is stealing. Taking property that is not yours is stealing.

Talk to me about the difference from a Brit's POV.
