Remove ALL US troops from Iraq and Afganistan, and use the money and manpower in the US. Stop occupying other countries, stop meddling and stop bombing them.

One fundamental problem with your Liberal idea is the fact that once the US withdraws, Iraq will go back to total chaos. If you are a terrorist and Obama announces that he will pull out by a certain a date, all you need to do is sit around and wait, once the troops are OUT, terrorists are free to do whatever they want. Not a very smart idea in my opinion!

The President is not trying to appease the republicans. He is taking the advice of the generals on the ground, while keeping his campaign promises.
I don't want the troops in Iraq a day longer than necessary, but, there has to be an orderly draw-down.

As for the Democrats, neither Pelosi nor Reid have a leg to stand on with regard to this issue.
The Democrats assumed a majority in 2006 based on their promises to bring the troops home. They failed miserably and they know it. Now they want to to step up? Too little, too late.

And just a reminder about the SOFA:

To me what is funny is that all these people kept saying Obama was going to end the war in Iraq that he was the guy to vote for.
I know there is no way we can bring all our troops home for awhile, but people are walking around in shock saying"but he said he was bringing them home" I just want to say DUH!!
My husband is deploying out soon and my mother in law from WI. called and said well maybe he will not have to go now the Obama is in office because the war will be over soon I just laugh at her then and I am still laughing because guess what my husband leaves soon!!!

Are people so dumb that they thought he could just bring them home?
If that was so then Bush would have done it

You are so right! Iran and Syria will be setting up terrorist training camps as our troops are leaving. Iraq will indeed go back to total chaos.

Obama never said, during the campaign, that he would bring them home immediately. He said he would bring all combat troops home 16 months after he was inaugurated, if he won. Instead, it's 19 months. Does that make him a liar?

The 35,000-50,000 troops that will remain after that, until 2011, is part of an agreement that Bush signed with the Iraqi government.

I agree, you might as well send them all home. We'll all get bombed together here. I don't think it's fair they send up the white flag and then leave a few troops to die. I say let's all take it together here. We can use the extra money to bury ourselves and our families. No need to worry about the economy and Wall street.

stop whining. I don't see you complaining about "occupying" South Korea. Or Germany. Or any of the other countries that we've had bases in for decades.
