Most audits are for high earners. Those in the middle, earning between $25,000 and $200,000, were least likely to be audited.

It helps when you post all the words:

- Biden proposes doubling IRS workforce as part of plan to snag tax cheats
- over the next decade, as part of a sweeping plan to chase down tax cheats.
- as part of a sweeping plan to chase down tax cheats.
- to go after uncollected taxes owed by large corporations, partnerships and wealthy individuals
- The agency said uncollected taxes in 2019 amounted to about $554 billion,

So what we have is a proposal to collect from the top x% that have been getting away without paying their fair share (like some elected officials that we have known) and this is bad why?

No they won't.

Firstly there are a lot of international loopholes, and the rich have clever financial advisers and lawyers.

Secondly Biden will have to sell the idea of a universal corporation tax, to the world which is unlikely.

Thirdly, he would have to get the legislation through Congress, which might prove very difficult, and could involve massively watering down many of the proposals.

I suspect the wealthy might even be prepared to move assets or renounce citizenship, if the taxes became too great, indeed Jeffrey Epstein reduced his taxes by 90% by moving his business to the Virgin Islands.

What is it with the left's obsession with taking money from the "rich people" ?

How's about trimming that budget instead ?
