I've never been anything close to a gun guy but I understood the arguments on both sides. I've never owned one but my opinion has always been that if you're gonna get rid of the guns you better find some way to get ALL guns(whether legal or not) or you better leave it alone cus if only criminals can get em that's a recipe for disaster in America. Maybe that's not a problem in other countries where they don't really have guns like that, but if you did that in America you can bet home invasions will go thru the roof.

HOWEVER, now that I've seen the riots and I've seen how in some cases the ONLY THING keeping rioters from attacking the "rich areas" is that they're afraid they'll get shot, I now fully get it. And after seeing that St. Louis couple and the reaction to it, including a nut job prosecutor in STL saying they're gonna look into charging them, I don't know what to think. Sounds like they're saying you're not allowed to protect yourself if someone tries to burn your house down.

I still would like to find ways to keep guns away from anyone mentally ill though. Their should be some penalties if your gun manages to make it to the hands of someone with serious issues IMO.

Instead of trying to figure out how to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and mentaly ill, how about we limit the freedom of the bad guys?

Easy enough...except, the Dems love keeping the mental and violent offenders living among us.

LOL I would love that but that's asking for too much. We know they're not gonna do that. Look how fast they bailed out every rioter in most of these cities as one example. Plenty other violent criminals were getting released cus of covid as well, some of em killed someone as soon as they got out.

God given rights do not come from you or government to take.
If a person walks free in society, they will always have ALL their rights.
If they are too dangerous to own a firearm, they are too dangerous to be free in society.
It is as easy as that.

Your feelings do not trump other peoples rights

We use to hang them and they didn't get out.

Ideally, yes. But we all know there's plenty of dangerous people in every city. Nobody seems to be holding them accountable.

Since you choose to make this a partisan issue, how about listing SPECIFIC ways in which Republicans are trying to keep mental and violent offenders from living among us?

They support the death penalty for one!

The Dems are the ones who shut down the mental institutions, oppose the death penalty, release violent criminals, decriminalize many actual crimes, fight for reduced or no sentences, promote early release and want to defund the police.

If this is true, why does Trump have political ads every hour on TV saying Biden has single handedly put more people in jail than anyone else?
