So it’s not about their health or the kids... it’s about getting concessions? How is defunding the police going to keep people safe from the virus? How will closing charter schools protect anyone? The virus may not be a hoax, but this is for sure a hoax being perpetrated against Americans and American children.

And for those two-income families, how do you suggest the parents work outside the house while their young children are home alone trying to learn online?? Not all employees have the options to work at home. What about the low income folks who can't afford computers or internet access? Or the families that have multiple children and only one computer?

I didn't say open the schools, I said either stop paying them or put them back to work. Government money isn't endless. We need to quit blowing it, and government salaries and benefits are way out of control. If other people can be out of work for Covid-19, so can teachers. I don't care which one happens, although there seems to be little risk to school age kids. But, I am sick of paying people to not work.
