Are you really unaware of the different functions between the CDC and HHS? The scientists, the level of expertise? Do you not differentiate functions in your own lab?

So what health officials have expressed alarms over the privatization of reporting such data?

Quote:
A number of public health experts expressed their alarm in response to the initial announcement – airing concerns that putting COVID-19 data in the hands of the HHS meant that it would be inherently politicized.

"COVID-19 data collection and reporting must be done in a transparent and trustworthy manner and must not be politicized, as these data are the foundation that guide[s] our response to the pandemic," said Infectious Diseases Society of America President Thomas M. File on Tuesday.

"Collecting and reporting public health data is a core function of the CDC, for which the agency has the necessary trained experts and infrastructure," he added. "Placing medical data collection outside of the leadership of public health experts could severely weaken the quality and availability of data, add an additional burden to already overwhelmed hospitals and add a new challenge to the U.S. pandemic response," File continued.

"This decision to remove the CDC from its primary function and opt toward creating a duplicative, private federal contractor will halt the flow of crucial information," said American Psychological Association President Sandra J. Shullman in a statement on Wednesday afternoon.

When dictators want to control information, they always come up with a way for it to be filtered.

And a GREAT Republican reminded us of this:

Quote:
Senator John McCain, defending the media against the latest attack by President Donald Trump, warned that suppressing the free press was “how dictators get started”.

Your talking about a stubborn group of people who reject Darwinism and the theory of evolution, thinks the world is flat, believes that DDT is a safe insecticide, considers Puerto Rico to be a foreign country, can't tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese, and forgets that Jesus Christ was a Jew. They don't care, and don't want any others to care either. The POTUS is always right, the scientists and academics cannot be trusted, and mathematics ought to be highly curtailed in schools. It's not going to the CDC. They have hired a private contractor to gather the data. Private companies are interested in making money, and don't care if the data they gather is altered or not.

Quote:
The new system was set up by TeleTracking, a private company based in Pennsylvania, which was awarded the $10 million contract in a non-competitive bid in April. In June, Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.), the ranking member of the Senate health committee wrote a letter to CDC Director Robert Redfield, asking why TeleTracking was awarded the contract on a non-competitive basis.

"It's entirely unclear why the Trump Administration has asked states and hospitals to upend their reporting systems in the middle of a pandemic — in 48 hours nonetheless — without a single explanation as to why this new system is better or necessary," Murray wrote in a statement to NPR. "The Trump Administration is going to have to give a full justification for this, because until they do, it's hard to see how this step won't further sideline public health experts and obscure the severity of this crisis."

On Monday, an email flagged "Special Bulletin" from the American Hospital Association and obtained by NPR, informed hospitals of the data reporting change, and indicated that distribution of remdesivir, a drug that's been used to treat hospitalized COVID patients, would be tied to the daily data reported into the TeleTracking portal. "The daily reporting is the only mechanism used for the [remdesivir] calculations," the email from AHA reads.

The distribution of a primary drug used to treat coronavirus is TIED to reporting through a non-medical agency. This is blackmail, pure and simple, instituted by a corrupt president and his cronies. And the company that got the contract received it on a no-bid basis, further showing how criminally corrupt the Trump dictatorship really is.

You certainly dont want anything to go anywhere where Trump can manipulate it to his advantage. If he has a chance, he will.

absolutely....the CDC is gathering data....no scientists, no labs are involved....this is bookkeeping

...the CDC then forwards the data to DHH....the data gets there a week late

labs, hosp, etc can now report their data directly to DHH...and DHH no longer gets it a week later

Wow. For decades the CDC has been comprised of experts in the field driving science as a respected body. Ever hear of data integration? This is mind numbing. You have no idea what you are talking about and yet you think you know. Why is that? This is the problem with our population and it's destroying our nation.

on 5/20/2019 Trump stated:

"There has never been, ever before, an administration that’s been so open and transparent."

clearly this decision was to keep us "open & transparent" /sarcasm
