Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way. Between church, the office, etc. everything is so polarized today. It's you either believe everything we say or you are against us- both sides.

What's happened to critical thinking? I've been in the middle for a long time because there are things I agree and disagree with on both sides. What I'm finding is I'm always in complete minority in both groups- D's and R's. It's gotten worse since Trump arrived.

This is what I'm seeing:

Republicans: Believe every conspiracy theory. If it came from some creepy video on YouTube (QAnon) a conservative would more likely believe it over the local news giving a rundown on today's stories. The entire country including people appointed by Trump including AG Bob Barr , Cybersecurity Chief Krebs and some judges are against him. This also includes previous supporters including GA Governor Kemp. Oh, and I'm not wearing a mask.

Democrats: Trump's lawyers are wasting their time in courts- he shouldn't even be there. Any issues that are caused during protests, marches or events is because of some white power extremist group (Proud Boys). BLM does nothing wrong. Oh, and you must wear a mask.

These are, indeed, the worst times in my life (even worse than 9/11).
Is anyone else a moderate?

There is no such thing as a moderate. There are people who've chosen a team, and those who haven't.

The problem with not having a team is that whatever you say, whether supportive or critical, gets interpreted by the R and D idiots as partisan. Both groups lack critical-thinking skills, and basically act like wild animals in their tribes of group-think.

And sadly, they're the majority.

Nope, IMO it doesn't suck but it does take more work. Personally I feel sorry for those who are so polarized. it's got to be exhausting.

I'm moderate, and so is my wife. There are lots of us. I used to study the candidates and make the choice I felt was best. Today that's no longer necessary. Most of the Republican Party has gone complete crazy town, and as far as I'm concerned this party needs to be taken out. I'm very far from being a "leftist", but to me there is no other choice today except to vote for Democrats. Quite a few prominent life-long Republicans have left the party. Most are registered as independent, although we are starting to see a few affiliate officially with the Democratic Party.

The good thing about being a moderate is that you are never forced to be in a position to have to defend "your guy" for a blow job or hush money to porn stars and playmates.

Yes. I’m 100% anti BLM and pro science. It’s very hard for me to vote these days.
Either I vote in favor of black thugs or in favor of science denying lunatics.
This year I voted in favor of black thugs, only because the the seats they caused are statistically insignificant compared to our science denying approach to COVID-19.
Honestly, both groups are deplorable. Both deserve long term punishment for their sins.

Moderates are people who want the status quo to remain unchanged. It is the ideology of the comfortable. America is broken. The lower middle class has collapsed. The poor are increasingly living on the streets. The young are unable to join the middle class, the right is in revolt over the social changes of the last 50 years. There are few moderates because very few people are happy with how the country is right now.

Not true. There are lots of things I would like to see changed, but I don't neatly fall into either of the establishment party camps. Of course, we don't get to vote ala carte, on each individual issue. All we can do is choose one candidate or the other, and there's no candidate that could ever get elected that supports my viewpoint on a majority of issues.

When both parties just pander to the stupid people in their base, how do you expect the rest of us to listen ?

I think the notion of Having to be on either team is silly.

I agree and disagree with things from either side. I am willing to work towards compromises to get things done.

Not republicans believe those crazy theories and not all Dems think the Nazis are taking over.

But since there are Only two teams.,.there isn't much choice so you get lumped in with one.
And of course, they have that baggage and people all to easily fall into that trap.

We need to approach arguments on themselves. Any issue should be able to be solved without resorting to party lines.
