Yea, but Canadians are not so deeply divided either. Conservatives, Liberals, Socialists, etc, they all came together to combat this disease and keep it in check. And this is going on in virtually all 1st world countries with functional government.
This crises shows just how dysfunctional the U.S has become in responding to a crises.
Yet "migrants" are still showing up at the border from around the world to seek asylum. We must be doing something right.
It tells you how desperate they are if things are so bad where they're coming from that they're willing to risk coming to America, COVID Capital of the World, for a better life, huh?

The point is, the world is actively keeping Americans out. And pretty much only Americans. And while I wouldn't be traveling anywhere now, people have business, people have families. There are reasons people might want to or need to travel but the No Entry sign is out everywhere for Americans.

Kudos to you for recognizing that we have fallen under Trump. We know things are bad under Trump. It's time to make a change in leadership. It's what every major corporation does when things are going south. They change the management at the top. Trump is a businessman. He should understand that.
America is America and Canada is Canada. The 2 are not the same and hopefully never will be.
Here is a question, On the run up to the election there were plenty of people and celebrities that declared that if Trump won they were moving to Canada. Did any of them actually make good on their pledge and move?
Why not?
The answer being.
Maybe America is not that bad after all ?
None of this speaks to moving to CAnada. It speaks to how badly the USA has managed this crisis.
Noting how much worse it is here in the USA because of failed leadership doesn't mean we all want to pack up and move (oh and by the way -- we can't -- nobody wants Americans right now -- nobody ---- Trump will always be the PResident who shut down access to Europe, Canada and many parts of the world to Americans).
The USA should have been the gold standard.
We have the resources, the expertise to manage this virus and we didn't. We failed miserably. It became a campaign focus for Trump --- trying to prove 'them' (Democrat leaders) wrong/incompetent and himself the saviour.
He failed.
It will always go down in history as a massive failure.
Sydney J. Harris. The difference between patriotism and nationalism is that the patriot is proud of his country for what it does, and the nationalist is proud of his country no matter what it does; the first attitude creates a feeling of responsibility, but the second a feeling of blind arrogance that leads to war.
I love the USA but we need more patriots and less nationalists.
