The dems are just politicizing everything. To the point of harming patients. Just because Trump said something does not make it right or wrong. Where do you think he got the idea? I doubt he came up with it himself, he likely heard doctors talking about it.
He definitely didn’t pull it out of thin air. There was already ample evidence for it’s use for SARS viruses. It has been politicized.
Y'all are really out here believing millions of doctors are conspiring against Trump... while at the same time believing that everyone ELSE is "politicizing" the issue.

Many Doctors are taking HCQ daily prophylactically, and it has been proven to be highly effective in a study conducted in 3 Miami Hospitals where not 1 healthcare worker got infected who was taking HCQ.
I dont believe millions of Doctors are conspiring against Trump, but a few of them are by ignoring science, and a few of those got busted recently ad had to withdraw their bogus anti-HCQ findings.
I do believe the media is conspiring against Trump by pushing their anti-HCQ agenda.

Frontline Doctors are typically not the one’s speaking out against hydroxychloroquine.

Frontline doctors aren't conducting research. Anything they say is anecdotal. And there are pro and con opinions on that anecdotal front.
The majority of actual research from around the world is pretty clear on the issue.
The thing is.. at what point is it okay to say it doesn't work as well as originally hoped? Is it really more believable that the majority of the medical research community is on on a giant conspiracy... or that the research supporting it just isn't there? Of course there will be a dissenting opinion here and there because that's how research works, but so far most of what's been discovered is coming down firmly on the side of "it doesn't work".
This is a new virus, so there will be some misfires while people try to figure things out... that's normal. Trump being excited about a drug them not having that drug pan out is not a big deal really under the circumstances, but it's frustrating to see this go into the conspiracy machine along with everything else COVID related IMO.

Most of the research was done for SARS, prior to Covid19 and it showed that it was a good option. Front line doctors are seeing the results in their patients but are being silenced.

The only conspiracy is that of the media who immediately jumped on Trump after he mentioned it. They fell over backwards, walked through fire, and climbed mountains to find so called medical experts who would argue against it. We can go online right now and find researchers who argue for and against its efficacy. All I'm saying is that the jury is still out. It may turn out to be helpful and it may not. The media, however, as soon as they get someone, anyone to say it doesn't work that is all they report. Meanwhile, other research that they ignore points to the possibility that it could be helpful. The media needs to stop politicizing this and start actually...let's see...caring about patients before their political bias.
Science is like that: there are going to be advocates for both sides. Randomized controlled studies are used to work out who is correct. Thus far the results are leaning in the other direction.
