. . . after the city council votes to cut her salary by 40% and reduce the police force by 100.

Here's a real gem from Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan: "Chief Best was the person to lead our city through this challenging time, to reimagine policing and community safety. Her leadership is unmatched nationwide, which is why it is a sad day for our City to lose her." Yeah, her leadership is so invaluable, y'all basically chased her out of town. What a righteous fraud.

Who needs a Chief of Police when you ban the police?

Seattle needs to hire a Chief Social Worker of Crime and Violence Management.

They say America is one huge experiment with all of the cities in the various 50 states being the petri dishes. I can't wait to see what kind of mold culture Seattle breeds by banning police. I await with bated breath.

Oh, and pass the popcorn, please. Should be an interesting show. I have always enjoyed a good Tragedy. King Lear has got nothing on "Death of Seattle".

What did they expect? You reduce her tools, make it harder for her to do her job and then cut her pay?

I wonder what puppet they will put in her place that will do their bidding and tow the Leftist line? They probably already have someone picked out and that person will have zero experience as a police officer but they will have a doctorate in sociology and a minor in butt kissing..

She is better off leaving, she can retire before her pay is really reduced. They have taken away any riot gear from her officers, Seattle will self destruct.

Have we ever seen a larger group of inept mayors than our country has currently? Mayor Jenny sounds like she's not fit to run a sorority let alone a city.

Smart lady. Good for her. They were going to decrease her salary to one lower than her white predecessor. How forward-thinking and fair of them.

Crowds were protesting outside the Police Chief's home. I don't blame her for retiring.

They are just begging for a Federal Police Force like you can find in so many dystopian novels about a dark future.

I don't blame her, but I am surprised she was making nearly $300 000. Here in Florida, she'd make around $100 000

You obviously know nothing about Seattle yet feel compelled to share your ignorance with the world, like so many RWNJs. The Seattle mayor is not a member of the city council.
