Makes you wonder how they ever get all those Christmas cards mailed. I'm one person and I mail about twenty that all seem to arrive in time.

That falls to the states. It’s their job to figure out how to administer their election process. My state has been sending mail ballots to every registered voter for more than a decade, and we’ve managed to figure out how to pay for it. Voters pay for the return postage if they choose to mail rather than use one of our secure ballot boxes. Personally, I always use the drop box because it’s just a short, pleasant walk from my house.

Less than the cost of sending official sample ballots, official voter pamphlets, official notices to inform the public that election materials are available in languages other than English.... The cost is just part of running a democratic republic.

Our county provides free postage paid mail in ballots, every county should do likewise. County Elections Office bears the cost of the postage, which I'm sure comes out of our taxes. So, since we have 2 elections this year, a primary and the general election, maybe a $1.50/per ballot including printing would be my guess or $3/max per person this year that decides to do that. My guesstimate to answer your question would be $300 million (which would cover a primary and the general election), which is really a drop in the bucket if you look at the total expenditures of our total government outlay. There's your answer my friend.

It's not really a Democrat or Republican issue, it is a public safety issue in my opinion.
