I think this is an extreme and dangerous measure but have seen people comment in other forums that this is a good move. Just wondering what others think of this. Would you support forcing people to quarantine in the USA, away from their homes if they tested positive for Covid? Is it worth it in order to eliminate Covid?
If people who test positive would voluntarily stay at home such facilities would not be necessary. The ones who refuse to do so because they have no symptoms are the problem.

That is the reason Typhoid Mary got locked up.

It helps families who cannot isolate an infected person at home, too.

Freedom, or the word that starts with "s"?

New Zealand - 4 deaths / million
US - 541 deaths /million

The end.

P.S. Oh wait, forgot something, states (in US) have huge powers in cases of public health emergencies, and they can quarantine as they see fit.

I agree with those who’ve said that it would be nice to have them for people who want to use them but I will never get behind the idea of forcing people to go if they test positive.

I’m not surprised that some think this is a great idea. Sad and very frustrated, but not surprised.

I take it you believe Typhoid Mary should not have been locked up?

Well given the stats are true (they likely arent) almost half the US deaths have been in nursing homes a.k.a. quarantined seniors

Suzy, are you advocating for quarantining sick people suddenly?

I mean, you've been blabbering on here for months trying to quarantine the entire population instead of just sick people.

What is it that you want? Should sick people be quarantined or the entire population?

This is an old fashioned solution. Think of leprosy and the isolation that was imposed. Think of TB hospitals and sanitariums where people were confined. NZ was doing so well by being tough. Now they have an outbreak and the natural reaction is to be tougher.
